Both groups are from Iceland and both make excellent moody stuff. I think I like Sigur Ros a bit more tho, they got so much emotion thats its not even funny, it can get more sad than this...mus got some melancholy stuff too but Sigur are the Icelandic kings imo What do u think? |

i think Björk is the icelandic queen on the subject; you can't really compare 'em imo, and i think they're both great |

i prefer sigur ros as well...mum are ok, but can get a bit boring at moments, their stuff sound too alike for my taste. |

I always see these two compared but I dunno how you can really. mum isn't melancholy, not on the whole at least. I bet they wouldn't get compared at all if they were from different countries. |

mum are a great band.... saw them live about six months ago and they didn't dissapoint. although i've never seen them live i adore sigur ros, and i'd have to say i like them more than mum.... particualarly as () is probably my fave album of all time. |

i like both equally because they're great in different aspects.......well, i'd guess i'd go with sigur ros because they just have better music overall, er i dunno. it's a tough decision. |

i'd say i prefer múm over sigur rós, but my interest in both has died down a bit as of late. i need to hear some new material! the new múm album this spring won't disappoint....i hope. |

stylistically theyre both so different i'm not sure you can compare them really. i like them both.. but personally, i prefer to listen to múm more than sigur rós. i love 'we have a map of the piano'. |
