there seems to be a certain kind of student that applies
for this show.. in my 3years at university i never met
one..

i think that says a lot.

well how much more did you expect it to say?

oh.. did i say "a lot"? i meant "very little indeed, so
little in fact that the 2 statements are nigh on arbitrary"

that has nothing to do with this thread at all.. but
seriously, i'm really glad you told me that. no sarcasm
intended, i mean it sincerely. i know you didnt mean to, but
you made me laugh aloud.

and now that im reading your post in context : yes, it must
be weird.

me too, i never met someone at my university that applied
for that show.

perhaps this has to do with the fact that im clueless about
what 'show' youre refering to.

a pile o shite

it is, indeed, a 'pile o shite'

its a quiz show on bbc2 (uk) in which teams (socially inept,
highrow-trivia-obsessed, introverted) university students
compete.
many of the questions are very obscure. +the impression that
you get of the contestants isn't particularly favourable, on
the whole.. they usually come off seeming a bit sad,
uneccesarily academic + unable to function in the 'real
world'..

hence my initial comment that (although my university was
represented on the show every year that i was studying) i
never even met anyone who knew (of) the contestants.. let
alone the contestants themselves.

it was just a throwaway comment..

lets bury this thread now.

Does it make you feel stupid because you don't know the
answers. or proud that you don't know the answers......
AND......when/if you get an answer correct, do you feel
proud or stupid?
