SaidTheSerpent - dark track

Here's another fleetmouse tune with the vocal samples and
the biting with the sharp metal teeth and the hurting and
shoving gahey

Unusually dark for me - a bit of a Posthuman - Uncertainty
of the Monkey feel perhaps - and a surreal narrative
involving a box of nails, a butternut tree and a serpent.

Interesting... neat dark stuff, kinda ambient, like from the
dark crystal or some other evil muppet movie.

Cool samples

Some neat production things going on, nice stutter on the
sample, stuff like that. The background doesn't get boring,
very nicely put together. Was sort of hoping for a little
bit more of a beat to keep things going, or some other thing
of sorts to push the energy just a little, but it works as
strictly ambient quite well

Great quality, neat track

Thanks! Yeah I got a little involved with arranging and
mixing the vocalsamples and didn't get around to the beats
so much... a remix is called for. I deliberately made it at
64bpm so I could add some doubletime 128bpm oomp oomp and
breaks later...

I second the "oomp oomp"... bring out the tubas

I am being given an insufficient degree of love.

It's not a blowjob from a seventeen year old strawberry
blonde groupie with an amazing rack but it's a start. :D

Well, to expand, I really liked it. I love oddball
sample-o-thons like these and yours wins bonus points for
not being utterly inane (in a bad way, heh). The melody was
also pleasantly offputting :)

Yeah, the melody is supposed to create a sense of unease and
give it a middle eastern feel - modes of harmonic minor are
the closest you can come to an Arabic flavor in western
tuning.

Did I mention that the remix has extra slither?

i downloaded and listened to the second version. i thought
the use of samples might have been just a little bit
excessive (maybe, not completely sure), but otherwise it was
very good and well-produced. i like the melody and
percussion is interesting as well. :)

Thanks - yeah, I often throw in lots of vocal samples for
some reason, and not too cut up either - that garbled shit's
been done to death.

Glad some people have listened to it.

I listened but forgot to post, sorry!

I found this track very interesting to listen to, not so
much dark as intriguing. Great vocals and messed up melodies
give it a very unique sound.

The only thing that i did not like about it was that it
ended to abruptly for me.

Keep up the god work fleetmouse, you got any other tracks up
anywhere?

Thanks, glad you liked it!

Stay tuned, more here soon. Working on something with a
completely different mood.
