theres a lot of things wrong with that film.. but i get the sense when i watch it, that even the moments when it seems to be taking itself/club/drug culture a little too seriously are actually a bit of a sideways swipe at its own subject matter.
most of the ideas/characters/situations in the film seemed hideously dated even when it first came out. its almost like watching a period piece.

Poor film IMO and not a very good representation of club culture either. Only two good scenes were the time lapsed clouds set to Moby's "God is Moving Over the Waters" and the "Dope Politics" scene at the house party.

yeah terribly disappointing. I'd agree with Ceri JC.
It has no story line, goes nowhere, the characters aren't developed at all... It's good as a (kinda) accurate (although a bit over the top) documentary but as a movie.. naah

it IS a very bad film.. in so many ways.
it just amuses me that its sort of ambiguous as to how seriously it actually takes the clubculture thing. how much it buys into the politics of the characters.. or whether theyre supposed to be the lame little selfindulgent clichés they are..

one of the worst films ive ever seen - what the fuck is the point in watching a load of people talking shit and pretending to be mashed. I can only hope that the complete lack of a decent script etc was because they were all really fucked on drugs and made it up as they went along - that'd be the only thing to make this pointless piece of shit worthy of all the time/money in making it.

Quite aside from the film, there's the point to consider that they screwed a lot of the cameramen/extras/etc. out of cash. As it was on a budget they promised royalties to those people in lieu of pay. Two years later and when the film had made literally millions, a lot of those involved still hadn't seen a penny.
Very PLUR...
