i had to go to the hospital last night, (pharyngitis...
second time in th last 5 months) my pulse was around 150,
and bad fever...
what's a normal pulse?, and has anyone else been terribly
sick lately?

normal when at rest is around 60-80bpm, depending on
height/weight and body chemistry..

and for infants that number is much higher.. I don't
remember why, it just is. (though I don't recall you being
an infant so I guess that isn't too helpful).

150 bpm is pretty damn high for being at rest.

I've had "the cold that wouldn't die" for the past week.
Sore throat, nasal congestion. Went to the doctor yesterday
for a throat culture but they don't think it's strep
(fortunetely).
