I never liked Family Guy, every joke I ever saw on it seemed
to be directly nicked from an old Simpsons episode. It was
funny, but I could never overcome the icky nostalgia.

if every joke seems to be nicked from an old simpsons, do
you still watch the new ones?

Haven't watched any of them in a long time. I know The
Simpsons are still alive and kickin', but I've heard it's in
a doldrums right now anyway.

This is a hard one. All these shows are genius, but the
Simpsons has been good for many many years.

Simpsons
Family Guy
Futurama

fuck that's a hard one...the simpsons is a classic, and
served me many, many years of laughs and anticipation.
but family guy is just absolutley wonderful, and never ever
let's me down.
it's a toss up, really.

i have debated the same question with many a friend. we all
decide that family is the best tho. yes, simpsons has served
us all for many many years, but the jokes are always a
little on the pc side. family says fuck all and makes fun of
everyone, especially midgets! ("help! theyre after me lucky
charms!" "hehe i paid him 10 dollars to say that!") i just
think family guy is funnier because of its shear rudeness
and that theres nothing like it on tv, because no one else
has the balls to do it.

each of the shows are good in their own way.. it shouldn't
be a competition.
but, it annoyed me on the newest halloween episode of the
simpsons where they copied the idea from an episode of
family guy where peter is the grim reaper for a bit.

I only saw the Family guy on DVD last Saturday as its not on
terrestrial TV here in the UK. What a show. Its much funnier
than the Simspons. The Simpsons is too safe and PC. Family
Guy is more surreal and close to the bone.

Yes, true simpsons did pave the way for most of these shows.
The Simpsons is a work of genius, but family guy is far more
wittier, plus the simpsons doesnt have the likes of Brian
and Stewie.

The Simpsons ruled until about 3 years ago before it became
horribly mediocre and near-tedious.

Out of Futurama and Family Guy I'd pick Family Guy.

I can't even watch the Simpsons anymore, I've seen it so
many times even the new episodes seem old. I never really
took to Futurama, apart from that bit with Dr Zoidberg and
the free buffet. So I say

Family Guy
Simpsons
Futurama

The Simpsons. I get bored watching Family Guy, after you
have watched 3 or 4 episodes you know exactly what the next
joke will be, it is far too predictable.

The Simpsons manages to not only be funny, but it also
offers so much more than a normal cartoon AND it does it all
without having to resort to total fantasy too often.

offline REFLEX from Edmonton, Alberta (Canada) on 2004-01-28 02:29 [#01051712]

family guy is not predictable!? its the opposite, the jokes
are witty and its a bit evil at times, making some pretty
crude jokes. the new simpsons episodes are over all lacking
what the older ones had. I dunno, its still a good show but
no where near as good as back in the day style.

If Futurama was the same calliber of the last season then it
would be THE BEST series ever. Family Guy is hillarious as
is some of the Simpsons.

They are all winners to me

I do like Family Guy but it doesn't have the same subtle
sense of humour the Simpsons has, they have a way of
injecting humour into places ot situations you wouldn't have
expected it.

1.Family Guy rulez!
2.Duckman
3.Simpsons
4.Futurama

I love how Family Guy takes a piss at everyone and doesnt
only swing one way politically like the Simpsons. And also
those constantly lovely surreal situations they put the
characters in.

Diane: In headlines, I Diane will be starring as Anna in
Qouhaq´s annual feature of The King and I!
Tom: This just in, I wont be going to the play because it
will probably suck!
Diane: Im just receiving information Tom that your a whiny
little jealous closet case!
Tom: Ok, we now go live to "Diane being a bitch"
............over to you Diane (stares at the camera)!

End of scene. Pure genius :)
And none of the other shows a character as sick as little
Stewie in Family Guy!
