Just got some new pop CDs

Well, I finally returned Deus Ex: Invisible War and Star
Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, since they are too much
for my piece of junk 1ghz PC. Well, anyway, at Walmart they
have this thing where if you don't have the receipt (which I
didn't) you have to take store credit, so after finally
convincing the clerk that I actually bought the games there
(he went on about some shit about the games not being from
the store blah blah) here is what I got.

Sarah McLachlan - Afterglow
Sixpence None the Richer - Divine Discontent
Peter Gabriel - Up
Duran Duran - Greatest
Moby - 18 The B-Sides (+DVD)
I also got
Howard Stern's Private Parts
Big 10 dollar bag of jerky

So I like some pop music, it goes quite well with my
Autechre and Aphex CDs, so kill me.

why should anyone want to kill you?

i can't stand music snobbery.
if you like something + you think its good then listen to
it.

Sarah McLachlan - Afterglow is probably the only think i'd
be interested in out of those.

Peter Gabriel - Up

great album... 'Barry Williams Show' is the least good track
on it, there are some true gems apart from that, 'Darkness',
'Growing Up', 'More Than This'... well, every track is
good... and 'The Drop' is a perfect ending, really moving
and beautiful song...

white stripes are only 'pop' in so far as theyre popular..

not exactly soft edged/manufactured/ahistoric pop music..

they dont rock, they are slow, boring unoriginal music! and
jack white or whatever his stupid holywood name is, is
crappy. real crappy trying to be retrocool, hes just
following some really stupid fad, that will not exist in 1
year from now, just like him, once hes off the fuckin radio
hardly anyone will care once again.

DAMN IT, you should have sold them to me! I can't find Deus
Ex anywhere!

Anyway, that's some good stuff, though I don't care for Moby
or Sixpense (I love their jangly guitars, though). Pop is
great, the best genre around.

i like stripes cut they keep it simple but the outcome is
awesome. i don't know anything about them so im not
concerned with what they think or how they act like, i just
love the sound of their music.

Aren't the White Stripes the ones that sing that "A seven
nation army couldn't hold me back" song?

I see all these motherfuckers walking around my city trying
to be like the white stripes or the strokes or any of the
various copycat groups that just feed of eachothers
trendsetting abilities, its a schtick and nothing more in my
eyes, my friends and I, like to say to them when walking by
them "hey look! the white stripes are in town, ya fuckin
retards". heh.

was at a houseparty last summer (friend of mine works for
warp) actually + a few friends/acquaintances were doing a
laptop dj set.. they dropped white stripes' '7 nation army'
into a full on techno/electronica set. fitted really well
against all the glitchy stuff they were playing.

actally, how is that Sarah McLachlan album? I'm really
tempted to get some of her stull, loved the track used on
the x-files album 'black' and i love the Delerium song she
did.
