just hearing this now for the first time... ace... as good
as i've ever heard them... there's even some really
different dark ambient stuff that you'd never expect from
them... and nice beats too :)

is it on soulseek?

offline DeadEight from vancouver (Canada) on 2004-01-25 13:56 [#01048265]

well.. it is on soulseek... but i believe it should be out
shortly (as in like this week, if it hasn't come out
already)

well there's nothing on the skam website. i have to get
this as soon as it comes out. i love "radial fold" from
that warpmart sampler.

i don't think the skam website has been updated in a long
time... last time i checked (which wasn't that long ago),
there was nothing on the site about any of the releases that
came out in the last year or so...

team doyobi are the masters of kicking something grand for
about 5 seconds and then having it fade into the
background...like that wild melody in track 2 of choose your
own adventure. i like the beginning of the record a lot, but
i'm not so into the rest....as in after the second track. if
they would throw in more stuff like that second track, we
would have a great release on our hands.

now listenin' to Choaux Bomber (track 1)... seems like
there's more attention paid to melody hear than i've ever
seen on a doyobi release in the past

good. as much as i like doy, they're in dire need of melody
in their shit man. like cryptoburners to me was so fucking
dry. i wont d/l this though, i strictly buy skam stuff.

offline DeadEight from vancouver (Canada) on 2004-01-28 00:27 [#01051650]

yeah... i'll buy it when i can... whenever that is... could
be months...

i think its ace! for once i dont really agree with you
mimi.
for me its like a really spaced out stroll outside.
the artwork suits the album too i reckon.

I think it is much better than cryptoburners. It's a lot
more complex; they have really developed. Square It is some
of the best team doyobi I have heard.

CYOA rocks totally. i couldn't get over track one for ages!
it's like 10 tracks compressed into one massively ace one.
the record does change track onto some more minimal stuff
the deeper in you go, but it's welcome i reckon.

tracks of the year... wicked...
