I bought Analouge Bubblebath

Frag on 2001-12-10 23:03 [#00059662]

You must be thinking: "What the hell?" But I'm new to RDJ.

Analouge Bubblebath
Come to Daddy
Drukqs

Ceri JC on 2001-12-10 23:12 [#00059663]

It looks like it's easy to get in the USA, but in Britain
it's been discontinued for years. I've got most of the stuff
off it on classics though. I don't think it's his best work
though.

The_Funkmaster from Newfoundland, Canada on 2001-12-11 03:00 [#00059689]

yeah, well here in Newfoundland all they carry in stores is
the RDJ album... oh, and Come to Daddy every once and a
while... that's friggin it... I lucked out and found ICBYD
and Polygon Window in a small little store downtown, but the
only thing they keep in the big stores here is the RDJ
album, and Come to Daddy... it sucks I tells you...

Ophecks from Nova Scotia on 2001-12-11 03:18 [#00059694]

Same here in NScotia, I can find lots of RDJs, nothing else.
I bought the ONLY copy of Drukqs that they had.

aperson on 2001-12-11 03:25 [#00059696]

Our store decked out after they got drukQs in and sold 5
copies in 4 days.

I've picked up

Both SAWS
ICBYD
RDJ Album
Ventolin
Polygon Window
Caustic Window

I love my record store...

The_Funkmaster from Newfoundland, Canada on 2001-12-11 03:39 [#00059698]

yeah, I managed to get Drukqs... they didn't even have in on
display, I had to ask the guy at the counter for it... I
have both SAWs ordered, but they haven't come in yet
dammit!!! But when I get those, I'll be content with my
collection right now...

Aktium from bat country on 2001-12-11 05:13 [#00059706]

i love my collection, because i have everything he ever
released. if anyone knows where to get the songs that
richard left on that plane please tell me, im trying to
track down whoever has it.

Xanatos from NYC on 2001-12-11 05:43 [#00059711]

Everything he ever released? Wow!! I bet it took you hours
to download all those mp3s! Good work!

crayon_kid from the inner reaches of your soul... on 2001-12-11 05:50 [#00059713]

this cd should be banned!
i read the label and taking it literally, like the
impressionable youth that i am, tried to bathe with my
analog equipment and nearly killed myself.

Maytag from Durham,NH USA on 2001-12-11 11:34 [#00059760]

No not the equipment but the Analogue tape itself. This is
what you bathe in, the tape. At least that's what I've
always thought of. You kinda swish around in there with all
the bits of taped songs, get out, dry off, retape the bits
all back together and VIOLA, you have Drukqs :).

Phobiazero from Sweden on 2001-12-11 12:30 [#00059775]

Aktium: Really...? ;-)

jand from Chelmsford,Essex,Uk on 2001-12-11 12:41 [#00059778]

akt... you'll be the toast of the town if you get hold of
that player; I've got everything he's ever released as well
and NEED MORE AFX!!!..:)..

I saw 3 tracks by SQPR labelled Unreleased Tracks #1,#2 & 3
the other day but didn't see any AFX...(There is one
"Unreleased Track" by aphex I've got that I've seen on
Soulseek & the old napster, anyone know anything about it???
It's from way before the Mp3 Player story tho so doubt it's
one of those)...

Phobiazero from Sweden on 2001-12-11 12:49 [#00059780]

I just hate when people are saying "I have everything he has
ever relased." You don't know what you're talking about.

What exactly do you mean? In mp3-format? If so, then it
sucks... Very lame.

With "all releases"; do you really mean ALL releases (like
diff. releases of the same title but on diff. labels)? That
will be about 120+ items (excl. promos).

What about all UNKNOWN aliases? ;-)

jand from Chelmsford,Essex,Uk on 2001-12-11 13:15 [#00059789]

To clarify...;)

I've been into Aphex since didge came out and have just
picked up a copy of each release as they are released...a
great way to appreciate the development of Aphex BTW...

I don't like Vinyl so I'm happy with hiQuality MP3s for
those tracks not on CD (& there aren't that many: UI,
HAB...)...

& I'm not like an really anal collector who needs to have
the same track a dozen times just because the label changes
colour...I love the music and it's enough for me to have
just one copy of each track so I can listen to it...

Toughest thing with Aphex is getting all the remixes: some
are impossible to find so have to put up with MP3s but I
have a goodly number of the original CDs...

Haven't counted how many Aphex Cds I've got but it must be
nearing 50'ish..

"What about all UNKNOWN aliases? ;-)"

What about 'em?...I kinda reckon most of them were more
interview bullshit from RDJ...I really can't see there being
much out there that has escaped the ravenous Aphex
fans...especially now we've got the net...

"You don't know what you're talking about."

ummm...are you sure?...;)

If anyoen wants, you can get Drukqs and Classics on ym

Phobiazero from Sweden on 2001-12-11 13:37 [#00059791]

So, in other words, you don't have them all... that's my
point. I don't care if you hate vinyls or not and prefer hq
mp3's (geez). Many people claims they have them all but it
always ends up in explanations like this. Next!!!!!!

Phobiazero from Sweden on 2001-12-11 13:40 [#00059792]

Sorry, maybe I should have a smiley at the end. :-)

Btw, 50 CD's proves you have duplicate titles from diff.
releases... :-)

Send me list and we could trade some rare items.

jand from Chelmsford,Essex,Uk on 2001-12-11 13:56 [#00059799]

Glad you added the :)...we were in danger of getting into a
sad pissing contest and thats so not me (or you I hope)...

Steve from UK on 2001-12-11 15:49 [#00059846]

Damn, guess not :D.

aktium from bat country on 2001-12-11 16:16 [#00059859]

ya, i have 31 albums by richard. when napster was around i
went though the discography and got everything. all the
remixes he has done. i have 3 cds just all remixes. and 4
that are just rarities, plus i have 4 full length concerts.
every album. even the universal indicators. i'm pretty
shure i have them all. im sure theres maybe a couple
floating around but i doubt it. it took me about 6 months
to find everything.

Phobiazero from Sweden on 2001-12-11 16:21 [#00059862]

Wow! I can't believe how you could get them all using
Napster?! How does it work anyway?

aktium from bat country on 2001-12-11 16:22 [#00059864]

phobiazero, ill send you a list of what i have. most are
mp3's, (just really hard to find shit is mp3 format)
everything you could possibly buy in buffalo ny i have. i'd
still be searching for the rareties if it wasn't for
napster.

aktium from bat country on 2001-12-11 16:22 [#00059865]

napsters dead

Ophecks from Nova Scotia on 2001-12-11 16:31 [#00059879]

I have most of what he's ever did, but only on MP3. I only
have Drukqs and the RDJ album, and I don't like ordering
stuff.

jand from Chelmsford,Essex,Uk on 2001-12-11 16:45 [#00059883]

Soulseek is the one nowadays...

I'm on there a lot and will soon have every AFX release
online for you all to get those impossible to find tracks,
live shows etc......so if theres anything anyone is after, e
me and I'll see what I can do...

I've got all the vids (including a very pukka copy of
Monkeydrummer) on mpg format...they'll be on soulseek as
well soonish...

Ceri JC on 2001-12-11 18:16 [#00059932]

RE: Those songs on the plane.

It may just be as story Rich made up for his own
amusement. You also hav eto consider that about 95% of
people (who wouldn't hand it in) would say "Cool MP3 player,
the songs on it are shit though." and delete them all. I
doubt they ever actually got out.

jand from Chelmsford, UK on 2001-12-11 18:57 [#00059957]

Yep, JC...you're probably right..

Aphex is the most amazing bullshitter on the planet when it
comes to interviews...

...but we can dream tho..:)

Phobiazero from Sweden on 2001-12-11 19:38 [#00059979]

So, there is a Soulseeker as well? Hmmm......still having
problem to find AB3 mp3's.... anyone? *SARCASM*
