I downloaded this .avi movie yesterday, and windows media player is having trouble playing it. when i open the file, it says i dont have the proper codec, which is DIV3. it trys to d/l the codec with no luck.
the audio of the movie plays, but no video.
I want to know if if i tried to burn this file to a dvd, would i have the same problem watching it on my home dvd player? or would it play fine? i dont want to seem like a dumbass, but i THINK the codec is just for the actual player right? so i THINK it should affect anything when i burn it on to a DVD??????
thanks!

well, what i REALLY want to do is burn it on to a DVD. i think it should have enough space right? 685 MB, decompressed and all that shit ends up being what, a couple gigs right? hopefully no more than 4 and a half...

On another note, how do you get DVD RIP's to fastfoward? I have the latest codec for divx but when i want to watch the video and try to fast foward it goes back to the begining.
