I only put OCS down as being into them was a contibuting
factor to me getting together with my girlfriend.

something by Barry White probably helped when my parents

doki from grmny on 2001-12-11 11:59 [#00059766]

twerk ... anybody knows him? he makes really weird mac-music
with that max-thing ... everybody should check it out at
audibleoddities.com
- the page is kinda lame in point of news and stuff, but you
can download a program designed by twerk which should be fun
to check out ...

Friedrich Nietzsche

Korben Dallas from www.mp3.com/polcXd on 2001-12-13 14:11 [#00060539]

he was quite an accomplished musician at the time! altho i
guess i sort of twisted the post

Fernz from Here on 2001-12-13 14:58 [#00060553]

Hey Korben I didnt think there were any other Nietzsche fans
on this board...! :)
I really like his THUS SPOKE ZARATHUSA. Woops, the topics
being ruined... sorry!

Korben Dallas from www.mp3.com/polcXd on 2001-12-13 15:20 [#00060557]

Yeah .. I've sampled a bit of that - ive read Beyond Good
and Evil - the easier version of Zarathustra - but I have a
copy of it - should really read it tho!

doki from grmny on 2001-12-13 15:21 [#00060558]

every man has a child in himself - and that wants to play

Korben Dallas from www.mp3.com/polcXd on 2001-12-13 15:22 [#00060559]

Quite amazing stuff really - i mean he did it all - towards
the end he already hinted towards (if not explicitly was)
postmodernism -

What about Kiekergaard - I haven't read any - but I think i
might want to ? I'm currently reading some Max Stirner
(neo-Hegelian) - :)

doki from grmny on 2001-12-13 15:22 [#00060560]

schopenhauer

Korben Dallas from www.mp3.com/polcXd on 2001-12-13 15:30 [#00060562]

but getting back on topic -

i can only really do it by genre [cop out i know] as well as
the whole genre thing being a hoax also

acid (the real early stuff)
jungle (breakbeat)
drill n bass (a la squarepusher, aphex, some mu-ziq)
and Autechre

Korben Dallas from www.mp3.com/polcXd on 2001-12-13 15:31 [#00060563]

yeah .. i've read The World as Will and Representation - not
bad

very influential on Nietzsche ... :)

Korben Dallas from www.mp3.com/polcXd on 2001-12-13 15:33 [#00060564]

and nietzsche and anne rice on the literature side fo
things. then again i listen and read too much stuff to
really know, it's a mixture of everything i think.

Tony hart

Korben Dallas from www.mp3.com/polcXd on 2001-12-14 00:53 [#00060663]

Foucalt eh ??

Derrida didn't grab you? - I don't really know either of
them that well. But I know they don't get along all too
well.

f.l.e.a from buggut on 2001-12-14 01:46 [#00060676]

got mainly into Foucalt because of his technicolour
personality and alignment with postmoderism, I read his work
from art and media POV...Derrida was the crusty old Marxist
wasn't he?

ohin from USA on 2001-12-14 01:49 [#00060678]

do you mean michel foucault?

Korben Dallas from www.mp3.com/polcXd on 2001-12-14 01:50 [#00060679]

Could be - yeah .. he is a bit crusty n old

- but as far as i know - he was the one that played with the
words/language - also postmodernist by definition - although
arguably not as practical as Foucalt?

f.l.e.a from buggut on 2001-12-14 10:17 [#00060760]

Derrida was the deconstructionist.......
yeah some of those dissociation of word and meaning
excercises were kinda cool....but I find Burroughs so much
more powerful with those..and the surrealists with their
Exquisite Corpse before that..
