There's actually a huge pirate/ninja rivalry on my campus. The pirates have a much larger following -- in fact I think the ninjas were only created as a response to the pirates. |

Pirates would definately win from any range greater than melee... they simply have the superior firepower. There's no doubt in my mind, though, that the ninja would totally annihilate the pirates in hand to hand or sword fighting. |
