No-one has said banjo, or zyther, or hurdy gurdy or cello.

I guess this is an electronic board so all the answers will
be Roland 7878633 Super Blaster Synthorama with alloy
knobs!

You`ll all be fucked when there is a power cut though!

But so will I as I`m an electric guitar, but I`ll still be
able to make a sound if plucked by my owner(hopefully a sexy
blonde with a shaved fud)

:)

I wanted to make this as a short film:

Start with a man on a stage playing the spoons. Continue
this scene with the man doing increasingly complex rhythms.
Once he has finished playing, turn the camara on the
audience which is a room full of candlelit tables with each
audience member being a drum machine. Have them all applaud
using snare rushes.

but anyway I think I would want to be an old school drum
machine. something like the Yamaha RY-30. This thing is
cool. Completely FM synthesis rather than samples so all
the sounds are very modifiable. It sounds pretty chinsy
like some old Depeche Mode or Incunabula. It was my first
piece of equipment and it still gets use although Tibbar has
it now.

There is one oddity of bass making, and that is the
"monster bass." Many stringed-instrument makers have
experimented with the extra-large bass. I'm not exactly sure
why. The most famous of these was J.B. Vuillaume, a French
luthier, who created a giant "Octobass" in 1848. It stands
four meters, or about thirteen feet tall, more than twice as
large as the standard 3/4 size orchestral bass. It is tuned
C'-G'-C, with its lowest string one octave below the cello's
C-string (and the same pitch as the much shorter extended
C-string on basses with extensions). Fingering on the
Octobass was accomplished by the use of seven
leather-covered metal bars, since the strings were too large
to be stopped with the fingers. Berlioz apparently thought
very highly of this truly monster bass, but it can generally
be regarded as little more than a museum piece.
