Might as well get a pair of decks just in case you want to
take up scratching

I just bought a new Sony turntable for around 200 bucks. It
works great.

How much would a cheap setup be to play vinyl? I really
only want it the vinyl only Snares and a few others. I
already have an amp and nice speakers.

you can get those little portable turntables for around
$200, they are pretty good, and you can take them to the
record stores :p

but if your going to take up scratching/juggling/mixing
whatever get a set of 1200s or even some vestax decks

When you say money is no object... do you mean you're
prepared to pay upwards of £1000? Or more like £300-400?

i have a technics semi-auto sl-bd22; not for scratching, but
works good for just listening

well yeah, £1000+ is probably a bit excessive for someone
who's completely new to decks and would probably only use
them mainly for listening anyway i suppose.
