Ive always wonderd something, and that is how RDJ made the desecison to go from his relaxed beat music, to hardcore drill n' bass, i mean its a big step from what he was doing. Any thoughts?

I don't think that its such an easy transition to analyze. I mean, name an album with "relaxed beat music" on it, and I'll tell you a song on that same album that definately isn't. I wouldn't even genrefy his releases like that because if he Drukqs is drill n' bass, then there is no such thing as drill n' bass. Because noone has ever done what drukqs is before. Whatever genre you want to put his music in, he defined it, so its impossible. Every album you want to classify as "relaxed beat music", I'll tell you a track that's fast, or screeching hardcore. Every album you wan't to call "Drill N' Bass", Drukqs for example, there are always "relaxed beat" tracks like Bbydhyonchord.
Its always a tough distinction, especially with RDJ.

yeah..he always been doing hardcore.. pretty much simultaniously with his "relaxed beat music" ...maybe not "drill n bass" ..but still some pretty rough stuff.
or do you mean the transition between his music with more regular rhythms and his 'drill n bass' type stuff?
..well i have a feeling that his discovery of squarepusher had something to do with that..
plus hes good friends with luke vibert, who was also doing similar stuff at the time..
