mine would have to be Peter Gabriel... he's just a musical
genius as far as I'm concerned...

Re: FZ

When I say early Frank Zappa I mean Freak Out! - But
especially "Were In It Only For The Money" - parody of Sgt.
Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band. With nuts Tape effects etc.
Oh .. and Lumpy Gravy is pretty "groovy" here and there ...
but the sort of early 70's stuff I don't "dig" as much - :)

Korben Dallas from _ on 2001-12-09 01:00 [#00059112]

But again - not EXCACTLY my favourite - more sort of a mood
thing!

some good wierd shit.

Korben Dallas from ege bamyasi on 2001-12-09 08:18 [#00059157]

um. . "are you hung up?" - beaaoorgh - "are you/are you hung
up" --

May as well stick with Zappa -

zmalloc from ERF on 2001-12-09 08:22 [#00059158]

ive never heard any older zappa.
(i probably should check it out though)

all i've heard was joe's garage
which I didn't like too much.

some funnny lines though
about electrocuting the robot
from the golden showers
(or something along those
lines)

Korben Dallas from www.mp3.com/polcXd on 2001-12-09 09:30 [#00059164]

Yeah .. Zappa I think is a bit hit n miss

- Its all pretty goofy - I don't know.

I've got Freak Out! - which is alright - Lumpy Gravy is
fucken weird but wonderful - some pretty cool lines in
there. Um. and Were in it for the money - as mentioned above
- ripoff of Sgt. Peppers but doesn't sound anything like it
- sort of.

But its all pretty much sort of based on the 60's groove -
so I guess it depends how one tolerates this.

Some of the later albums I've heard of his - are totally
different, not so high energy and to be perfectly Frank - a
bit lame.

Ceri JC on 2001-12-09 22:19 [#00059272]

Quoth:

You cheater, you're just saying beck because RDJ did a remix
(Richard's hairpiece) for him! ;)

Seriously, I rate beck too.
I reckon I'd have to say my favourite is dire straits or old
(OK Computer and previous) Radiohead. If I'm only allowed
one, Dire Straits win.

paperclip on 2001-12-09 22:37 [#00059286]

Dire Straits?
are you homosexual?

paperclip on 2001-12-09 22:39 [#00059289]

not bagging Dire Straits or anything buts it just alot of
people i know who are gay just happen to like Dire Straits
thats all.

paperclip on 2001-12-09 22:40 [#00059290]

and theres nothing wrong with being gay either.

paperclip on 2001-12-09 22:41 [#00059293]

i was just wondering because there are so many homosexual
undertones in their music, i was wondering if that was the
aspect that appealed to you.

phitchix from bed and not on 2001-12-09 22:47 [#00059298]

paperclip is gay, as he is using gay humor!

Ceri JC on 2001-12-09 22:50 [#00059300]

No, I'm not gay, but my mother had 2 boys (no girls) prior
to me which means there was a lot of testosterone in her
womb when I was forming which increased the chances of me
being gay, but mascualine, allegedly. This seems to reflect
a bit- Psychological test results etc., My girlfriend
thought I was gay when I first met her.

I doubt there's much in the Dire Straits/Gay thing- "See
that little faggot? yeah buddy, that's his own hair."
Doesn't sound like typical gay-sensitive lyrics, does it?

Ceri JC on 2001-12-09 22:52 [#00059304]

Oh and the whole gay music scene sucks cock (If you'll
pardon the expression!).

BTW why didn't you assume I was a girl? Most people do-
"Ceri" is a girl's name in most parts of the world.

phitchix from bed and not on 2001-12-09 22:54 [#00059306]

u ain't a girl? your paperclip?
