Radio Rock sucks all of our asses, we agree, but there is
some good groups out there, you just haven't heard of them.

Quality rock music you should be listening too:

omg, their new disc will be out in a few weeks.

They worked with a super producer, but haven't sold their
souls to a label, I asked jake for a copy last night, but
it's being mixed now, oh can't wait!

well, listen to virginpusher then, I recommended a band, and
he loves them, just as you might too.

they're great, so are a lot of other artists on the list,
check their websites, would links on the webpage make it
easier for you all?

umm, if they have free mp3's on their sites, then yes :)

btw, here's a thread i made not so long ago where ppl
recomended me their favourite rock artists, perhaps if you
haven't checked it out yet and would like to do so,
here's a link :)

Rock is, or at least WAS, better than electronic music will
ever be. But I love both of them dearly.

offline Zephyr Twin from ΔΔΔ on 2004-01-13 16:55 [#01031811]

i've never been too much of a rock fan, punk/indie i was
insanely in to, not so much anymore though. No offense, but
the same guitar+drums+bass+vocals dynamic just bores me for
the most part nowadays, electronic music is just so much
unique in the sound combinations that are used, every (good)
song is like an adventure!

then check out some of the stuff I recommed.

You'd dig coheed & cambria, time changes in the songs,
drummer never just keeps a beat.

Just try some of it!

my thing with music is that it usually comes down to a real
nice engaging melody... if Rock, country, jazz, indian
music, hip-hop, etc, etc has that then I'll like it... so
yes I like rock music!

I'll take them down in a week or two. They aren't popular
yet, but I've heard they have a video.

Have a video, name goes off list =)

although all those bands are by far way too easy listening
for me, I applaud you for not having a close mind like many
here and being so lame to stick to 1 kind of music

yeah, I wasn't saying anything about the quality of their
music, just that they are popular here. :D No, haven't
gotten a chance to check out anything besides coheed and
cambria, which I like but as ophecks said, the vocals are
kind of... how to put this nicely.... bitchy?

lol, keep in mind. All of the Coheed & Cambria albums are
telling part of a story. Every song is part of the story.

The first album was part II, the second album is part III of
the story, it's really amazing.

ever heard of Recover? if this is considered rock, then yes,
I love rock music. I just put this cd in to show my friend,
and I haven't heard it in a long time but I really really
love it, it's basically melodic hardcore punk, check it out
if you haven't heard them.

Part I will be the fourth album put out.

The next album is part 4 of the story.

It's a sci-fi thing, it's really intense.

Never heard of recover, is that a recommendation?

sorry Zepher, I can't read good =)

I have heard of very few of those groups.

Super Fury Animals is very sonic, I love it.
Interpol is cool
Wilco is very talented, I like them, but not a TON.
Sonic Youth is a classic, I might still own some CDs
Broken Social Scene is interesting, but I really don't like
them.

I will honestly do my best to check out every one of your
suggestions, it will take a few days, but I will do my best.

Thank you for taking the time to suggest groups you think
deserve recognition.

wheeeee

I just saw Coheed last night, with Vaux and Bear vs. Shark.

Good show, but Coheed fucking ruined the place. It was
insane. The entire crowd went so nuts, everyone was singing
along, and everyone was just soaking it all in.

If you people haven't heard them, you need to. amazing
