there´s this band called shellac - i had the cd in my hands several times but couldn´t listen to it, and i didn´t wanna spend fucking money for shit-disc ... but somehow they "attract" me, you know like i saw the cover the first time and thought cool, and then the name ... SOOO does anybody know if this is worth my bucks? |

shellac is the brain child of the god of noise rock..Steve Albini..previously of Big Black, Rapeman..and producer of the likes of THe Pixies, Head of David, the Jesus Lizard, TAD, Nirvana(In Utero) etc. shellac is not as wild and manic as a lot of the above mentioned stuff but it's still supremely noisy, scary and messed up...ironically I personall think that a lot of the bands I mentioned above plus other noise rock stuff like the Cows, Butthole Surfers etc are like the noisy rock equivalent of Aphex Twin..they all share that odd surreal and absurdist view of everyday life..I think the best comparison might be..Come to Daddy..without the drill and bass... |
