ive not really listened to saw 89-92 properly for a long
time, so last night i put it on, and i was like; whoa! this
cd rules. i listened to incunabula this morning and i was
like; whoa! this cd rules aswell, its interesting to see how
the 2 albums are similar in the light of afx and ae later
stuff

i don't think they are comparable.
They are both top-notch though

I think he meant comparable to later work from the artists
involved not to each other as releases.

I agree both are excellent peices of work and regardless of
how the technology and styles used over the years you can
still hear the same sort of unique flavour in their work.

I don't like SAW 1 at all. Incunabula however, is magic.

who'd a thought that from incunabula and saw, ud get tracks
like surripere and mangle 11 10 years down the line. i dont
reckon they're similar at all, it just struck me how afx and
ae initiated themselves music wise and then they're
progression into today (my syntax rules)

in terms of incunabula the first few tracks are imho among
the sweetest melodies ae have ever written

i have to say Incunabula, because it has rythm.

saw1 has rhythm also?...when i last listened to it, i
couldnt help but invisage flying across a rocky shore line
in the sun...then i fell asleep (not to say its boring, but
that i was tired)

in these albums there are 2 masterpieces... one is 444 by Ae
and one is Heliosphan by AFX.
I think SAW85-92 is better than Incunabula but maybe not
better than Amber.

both genious abums

both have the souls of their respective creators... and that
souls is still there in every release they make.

Amber is ok, it has some nice tracks but i think it lacks
any real distiction. I think incunabular is much better than
amber and tri repetae blew both of those out of the window.

in the old days, definitely saw85 92

but now I've listened to it too much

incunabula has staying power imo, I can still listen to that
the right way through all the time,..

enjoyable... so Incunabula...

it has been thoroughly established by the midnight (EST)
shift of the aphextwin.nu slsk room that autechre is better
than aphex twin in absolutely anything and everything.

the group however cannot form an equal opinion on
squarepusher.

SAW 89-92?? Wasn't it 85-92?

Anyway, Incunabula is a million times better in my opinion.
Xtal was a cool track though.

Although I like Autechre better than Aphex Twin, I must say
that I enjoy SAW 85-92 more than Incunabula. I find
Incunabula to be a bit boring after a while.. probably
because I cannot divorce it from their later work that is so
full of complexities and mutations. It just seems
repetetive in comparison. I suppose the same thing could be
said about Aphex Twin, but somehow I think SAW is more
lovely and representative.

i like incunabula a lot more. it has much better melodies
in my opinon (basscadet, 444, eggshell especially)

oooh, both great albums... i can pretty much pick them up
and listen and they are fresh, but incunabula has the edge
on that.

best tracks - heliosphan, tha, delphium, 444, autriche,
bike, maetl

Well, Tha is my favourite track from those 2 records, but
Incunabula is better imo.

Tha, Heliosphan, Xtal, Ageispolis
Eggshell, 444, Bike, Basscadet
