it's good. as far as drone is concerned it doesnt have shit
on other artists doing it (mirror, windy and carl, stars of
the lid, etc.), but its quite nice i find. nothing
spectacular but, nice enough i think.

I like the drone I've heard.

Who is the apotheosis of drone, someone that I must hear?

stars of the lid, without a single doubt in my mind.

music for nitrous oxide (1994)
gravitational pull vs. the desire for an aquatic life
(1995)
the ballasted orchestra (1996)
per aspera ad astra (1998)
avec laudenum (1999)
the tired sounds of stars of the lid (2001)

all of them are great, in their own way (though, their first
one is crude, but i still think highly of it).

thier early-to-mid releases are darkest. avec laudenum is
the start of their lighter sound.

overall, i suggest "the ballasted orchestra" by them.

there has to be a point?

whats the point of non drone stuff then. is it really that
black and white?

my guess is no.

i think when people think autechre they think beaty. and so
when autechre releases something with drone ambient
involved, people go a bit "hrm".

hell, i was that way, though i do like ambient and drone, so
it wasnt like, shocking or anything. but yeah, not what i
expected.

but it is a solid ambient/drone recording. but thats more
just a matter of personal taste i suppose. i could
definitely see someone not liking the stuff.

I just listened through the tracks for the first time, I
liked the first one most.
It wasn't surprising having already heard some Hafler Trio,
that's what it sounds like.

Drone is kind of like background noise, I always liked the
sounds of fans or heaters or whatever. I also like the
subtle interference patterns in the first track

ive heard hafler trios less drony work. this stuff was more
like tapes. sort of like nurse with wound almost. a few
other things here and there, none of the ambient stuff
though.

ok maybe i said it wrong.. its just not very interesting for
me.. maybe i'm missing some incredibly detailed stuff or
whatever.. the only thing that really interested me was when
it occasionally launched into glitching.. i dunno.. maybe i
should give it a few more listens or something..
