yes, supposedly it's Marcellus' soul.

or at least that's what Tarantino has said.

no, tarantino did not say that. a fan came up to tarantino
and said that's what they thought it was. tarantino doesn't
know what's in the case. it's just a case to make people
wonder what's in it.

explanations too.

There are many explanations going around like:

1. There is Gold in the case..that why there is this golden
Lighning

2. They sold their soul to the devil...thats why there is
999 aka 666 on the case...

Ezekiel 25:17:
The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the
inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men.
Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will,
shepherds the weak through the Valley of Darkness; for he is
truly his brother's keeper, and the finder of lost children.
And, I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and
furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my
brothers! And, you will know my name is The Lord when I lay
my vengeance upon thee!

That's not actually all Ezekiel 25:17. The line in the film
is some combination of Psalm 23 (valley of the shadow of
death/darkness) with Isaiah, Ezekial and Genesis (story of
Cain and Abel).

I suppose it's poetic licence.

You know whats in the case? A yellow lightbulb. They put it
in there so people would do this shit forever. It a film
geek giving other film geeks a purpose to live.

Fuck off twat, I didn't indicate any antagonism in my post
whatsoever, I was just amazed that people still ask this
question 10 years after this movie came out - when it was
one of the biggest films of the 90's and this was the
million dollar question for years afterwards, as well as the
source of endless internet speculation. Maybe you're 10
years old, I dunno. Anyway, here's a real reason for you to
tell me to chill out. Up yours.

surely the fact that this film made you go out & at shitty
fast food for major capitalist corporations based on 5mins
dialogue between 2 characters shows that youre highly
impressionable..
part of the lowest common denominator that makes the rest of
us suffer extremist censorship because authorities are
afraid we're all too stupid to think and act autonomously..?
