I love the buttons being integrated into the wheel but I
like the regular rounded corners around the outside. Maybe I
have to see it in person though. More colors=good.

i think your all gay! there's more discussion going on about
Ceri's biceps than the new ipods!

In the accesories they have these new in-ear headphones,
they look good, better than the ones you get with the Ipod.
Also the armband holder is silly. I like the green one.

it just means you have to be selective about what you put on
it, i'm sure your not going to listen to more than 1000
songs in one go. I'd rather have all my music on it too but
I can't afford the more expensive ones.

with such a small price difference between the 4 and 10gb
models, i would just spend a bit more and get 10 gb instead

about £40 extra

come to think of it, i'm fucking rrolling in it rright now.
i could get an i-pod. i just don't think it's worrth
it. i'd just drrop it, orr leave it on the bus.

i just got a 20 gig for xmas. i love it. i think ipods
should have that classy look to them that they always have.
not all these fruity ass colors. and 250 is a rip off! 4gig?
what are you gonna do with that? i make all my mp3's @
320kbps.

I just got the 20 gig and was almost regreting not paying
the extra 100 bucks for the 40 gig model. But I think this
one will do me fine. It barely leaves my side. I love how
you can store your contacts in it.

i hope this version hasn't got the same battery problem as
the normal one...

and yes, i prefer the design of the normal iPod and it is
still too expensive.

different colours is a good thing though.

I wish they'd gone lower price and perhaps solidstate -
Flash Cards - storage rather than yet another Hard Disc....

But yeah, its a cool design and I doubt Apple'll have any
problems selling as many as they can make....

its a lot cheaper to replace the batteries now if you check
the thread that was originally in

Q: Is the iPod's battery replaceable?

A: Yes. Apple has an official battery replacement program
for $99. You send your iPod in (any model iPod), and Apple
will replace the battery for $99. AppleCare programs for
iPod will also soon be available in Europe, and are expected
soon in other markets.

Q: Is the iPod's battery user-replaceable?

A1: Yes and no. The iPod's case is not designed to be
opened, so, in that respect, it's not what would generally
be referred to as "user-replaceable". But, the case can be
opened, and there are several third parties that offer
replacement batteries for the iPod, such asiPodBattery.com
(instructions, with pictures: original, non-"dockable" iPod,
new, slim "dockable" iPod) and PDASmart, for as low as $49.
Some will even do the replacement for you if you send it in.

oh yes, I saw that one too. nice.

I have this one:

click

not quite the looker like yours, but it does the trick and
wasn't expensive.

I love being able to fit 24 hours of music on one cd. do
take heed on the ATRAC-system - the soundquality is pretty
good, but the encoding-program is crap (you can't save
ATRAC-tracks that you are making + a pretty unstable
program, prone to sudden collapses = ARGH).

Because of its exceptional performance and quality, Advanced
Audio Coding (AAC) is at the core of the MPEG-4, 3GPP, and
3GPP2 specifications and is the new audio codec of choice
for Internet, wireless, and digital broadcast arenas. AAC
provides audio encoding that compresses much more
efficiently than older formats such as MP3, yet delivers
quality rivaling that of uncompressed CD audio.

did they make the battery life longer?

My mp3 gives me ~7-8 hours on one AAA battery, and that
still sucks, but at least I can bring a spare battery around
if I need it.

3-4 hours just sucks ass

its ok, i can burn the aac files onto disc as mp3 files. You
dont have to use atrac do you?

would mp3 be better quality than Compressing to ATRAC?

yes, 256k and up is better, I think.

but ATRAC is pretty good and does take a lot less space.

Expensive.
Not enough storage space.
Crap colours.

"Apple engineers squeezed all the best features of iPod into
a case weighing just 3.6 ounces"

I'd rather have the 3.6 ounces in skunk thanks.

The original's a classic. They've done good with the buttons
under the wheel but that's it. These new ones stink of poor
quality.

i didn't know you could buy replacement batteries from other
companies... and knowing is half the battle

they look pretty cool (except every colour but silver).....
but like other people say, it might be worth getting the
bigger one for only like 100 dollars more, for many times
the storage space
would have to compare the size of both in person though
