Anyone enjoy this show? A friend of mine has the whole
collection on DVD, and ive borrowed them all in return for a
few of my own vids, and Ive come to really enjoy this show a
lot, its done really well and the characters are great.

I havent seen the movie yet although and am thinking about
going to go rent it this week sometime? Anyone else dig this
or what?

I love the way that spike looks like he's not trying when he
fights, and that they're broke all the time,... I can relate
to that,.. especially at the moment :|

yeah, its very nice to see an anime show done that way...
not very futuristic and liek suped up.

everythign is all rusty and junky.

i just remember the mad pierot episode... very creepy.

the way they scab money around between them reminds me of
how me and me mates live,.. always borrowing,.. stealing,..
and collecting money off each other,.. and it goes through
our hands like water

yeah, i think it gives the characters a good dynamic...
barely gettin by doing REALLY dangerous stuff just to eat a
few bites of some crummy meal.

ive tried to show this series to people before, and they
wont sit through more than 2 or 3 episodes, cuz it doesnt
suck them in right away.

i told them its the kind of thing you have to watch a few of
before it really sinks in and the characters need time to
develop.

but some people just want instant gratification.

yeah, I always try to set myself up so I can watch an entire
series in one sitting,.. I remember watching all of onegai
teacher in one sitting.. and i plan on doing the same thing
with lain tomorrow maybe,..

The movie was very disappointing to me after enjoying the
show. It seemed especially convoluted. I love the show
though.

hmm interesting thoughts here, for me it was easy to get
into the show, my friend lent me all the episodes on DVD and
from there I was almost imediatly sucked in, i loved it!

i tried watching a few episodes and couldn't get into it.
maybe i'm just too old. Like every time i mention the
cartoon "Star Blazers" here, nobody knows what the hell i'm
talking about cuz it came out in the '70s.

here is a topic i started about Star Blazers.

notice how nobody knows what the hell i'm talking about.

though, shame.

these kind of programs and "mangas" make very little sense
to me because of my somewhat-dumb western sense of logic and
perception.

i must watch the movie.....
im watching the X tv series at the moment, quite nice, im
about half way through but ive been told the ending
sucks.... but then again the manga (by clamp) isnt even
finished yet.
anyone know about X here?

offline kochlear from aud-stim.com on 2004-01-05 14:38 [#01019239]

the movie was fantastic.

i loved how every episode was a story in it's own. "ballad
of fallen angels" "jupiter jazz 1 & 2" and the final 2
episodes were the only ones with a continuing plot, whereas
the rest were more like half hour movies. i loved it.

the movie was great too. excellent music, especially that
one song that was entirely choir i think...when the train is
about to blow up.

If you like Bebop you should definately pick up the Firefly
dvd. It has all 15 episodes, and you can get it for 35
bucks or so on amazon. Fantastic show.

Mad Pierot!!!! Man I love that clown... the music fits SO
damn perfectly, Yoko Kano is amazing

I went nuts when Vibert spun his Tank! remix during the
Squarepusher show here

Best anime I've seen so far by a huge margin
