this is the first time ive come online or seen any "normal"
tv since the whole christmas thing kicked off as ive been
here (& abroad) visiting family & friends.
i turn on the tv to check the listings on teletext & spot a
load of people in ambulances all battered & bruised, & some
girl (janine i think she's called) fighting with a guy about
whether or not she'd killed someone.. is anyone out there a
big enough fan of this dirge to have watched it over the
holidays - i just wondered what misfortunes the show had
inflicted on its characters this christmas (as they seem to
make the suffer more & more tragedy every year)?

seeing low life scum on my box.

acrid milk hall,

Yeah people who are fans of that tripe, man they are even
worse. At least for the actors is just a job. Lol.

i know - hardly worth paying a license fee for most of it.
im not a particularly sensitive person - but i do find it
saddenning the sheer volume of programs which set to
belittle people. if the people on the shows doing the
bitching & backstabbing had actually proven themselves, they
might be justified in putting other people down.

promo - true.. i wouldnt begrudge the actors for doing a
job. if theyre not good enough to make it to serious dramas,
stage or film - then why not do soaps if you can make a
living at it. the people who write the shows must have some
fun too.

earthleakage - good point, theres always something other to
do than watch shit on tv. but sometimes youre in the mood to
watch, & its pretty shameful when theres nothing of any
quality on.

anus - nevermind.. it was a passing intrigue which lasted
only seconds.. i reckon i'll live without knowing/caring!

Janine & Paul were trying to pull a fast one on Barry...
Barry thought he had a heart condition &'s gonna die soon...
Janine wants to marry him so she gets the money &
property...

They get married - Barry finds out he's not gonna die any
time soon... janine is gutted - They end up argueing and she
sort of pushes him off a hill... and he dead...

Later they find Barry, Janine says she don't know what's
going on and acts upset...

Meanwhile all the Eastenders kids were on their way to
Scotland for a New Years party... Got lost, run off the road
by accident, and have been stuck in the middle of nowhere
for a few days...

Zoe & Kelly got it on!

Zoe almost died of hypothermia but they got help in the
end...

I am such a lame ass

acrid milk hall,

I think the tone is way too serious in soaps. They need to
lighten up most conversation between blokes is light and
jokey. There is no grit in Eastenders its just basically a
whole bunch of people with seriously short fuses - nobody
lives like that. The whole supposed gritty realism thing is
just bullshit really people ain't like that. The whole show
is a pharse.

thats 3 weeks summed up in 60 seconds. pretty complex stuff,
eh? is the zoe/kelly clip available online anywhere?

The Zoe & Kelly bit was awesome... I hope they pick up where
they left off as soon as she's got over her hypothermia and
everything...

I might have a look around on Google - Maybe there's an
Eastenders forum that'd know where the clip was! haha

Yeah that happens a lot...

In Neighbours the dodgiest thing is whenever anyone exits
out the front door there's always someone else standing
there just about to knock and come in... They always act
suprised but it happens about 15 times a day...

depressing, contrived drivel every day I don't know.

my famiy watch it and I can guarentee every time I enter the
room when its on there is some talk of someone being raped,
shot, having some life threatening disease or someone crying
like the world is about to end. I'd love the writers to have
all this happen to them.

not at all, I don't car... i never watch it. However I do
think its on to early, it is definately not suitable for
kids, if the things happened like this in a movie it would
be on after 9pm.
