My first SWANS record which I picked up yesterday and listen to last night around 3:00 AM while drinking. That shit is seriously fucked up. I like it.

not to mention it would be wrong to involve an audience in such unsavoury and uncivilized event even if they would like to see it (which I don't really doubt tbh).

I got Fith/Body to Body, Job to Job this morning and I am listening to it now. Crazy good. In the few short days that it has been since I've first heard SWANS, I've become somewhat obsessed with this incredibly powerful, frightning music.
Anyone out there who enjoys extreme and challenging music (such as AE's Confield or late-era Coltrane) would do him or herself a favor in at least being exposed to this stuff. Check it out!!

i started off with soundtracks for the blind and it worked but i was already into experimental music somewhat, if your not, id start with something like forever burned or white light from the mouth of infinity(although hard to find nowadays)

if you dig the more subtle approach on stuff like soundtracks, check out gira's new group angels of light.
body lovers/haters are good also.

Ok, it's official - I am now of the opinion that "Public Castration" is the greatest live rock document of all time, and one of the most powerful rock albums I have ever experienced (this coming some 7-8 days after i first laid ears on SWANS).

So, if you are interested in giving SWANS a shot, i suggest (HIGHLY suggest that is) starting with this live album. Other SWANS fans may disagree, but given the overwhelming and trancendent power of this album, you are probably best initiated by fire.
