Autechre - Acroyear2

A whole new music started from that track...

Orb - Little Fluffy Clouds

A 4-minute middle finger to anyone who scoffed at ambient
noodlings being combined with house beats...

Future Sound of London - Cascade

Ethno-ambience at it's finest...

You know who and what from ;) - CD1, Track 1 (aka
'cliffs')

'Nuff said.

Global Communication - 4:02

Lulls you into a master-sculpted landscape of warm, lush
sound...

pointless but on-topic pop trivia:

the intro to interstella overdrive derived from when syd was
trying to emulate the intro to my little red book by love*

*yes i know it was by burt bacharach but it was the love
version he was trying to play

The first song on Lilies by Arovane does the trick for me
every time I listen to that album.

not counting songs that are merely the first tracks on their
particular albums but trying only to think of ones with a
clearly exclusive "introductional" purpose i'd spontaneously
say "multinational corporations" on napalm death's "scum"
lp... it just sets the mood PERFECTLY ...when that bass
kicks in, oh my! maybe even my favourite moment on the whole
album.
