I think in the past decade it has been determined that our universe is a 'runaway' universe, that is, it is accelerating and will continue to expand indefinitely.
The size of the universe is finite in three dimensions, but boundless, meaning there is no edge.

According to the article, the Poincure Conjecture had something to do with describing how, like a 2 dimensional surface can be curved to form a continuous surface (sphere), you can do the same thing with a 3 dimensional space.
