Revenge of Shinobi was one of my favorites on the Mega Drive
(Genesis) for a while

I find it very strange that Streets of Rage was never an
arcade game.

Because it was basically a remake of Final Fight which shit
all over it. If you like SOR you would cream over Final
Fight

There's a pretty damn good version out on the GBA/SP, it's
called Final Fight One.

Hehe, I used to hammer Double Dragon when I was on holiday
in Wales too! How bizzare! Ended up completing it too...
Best moment of my life..

My favorite game is, without a doubt, Shadowrun on the
SNES.

If they re-made that game with the Half-Life/Quake engine
it'd be the greatest game ever made... The music and feel of
the original was incredible!

Have you ever played Tetris on the N64? Not only can you
play 4 players head to head but there are special features
which add a whole new dimension to the game e.g. if you make
a 4/4 square block it morphs into either a silver or gold
block depending on whether you made it with all the same
colour blocks e.g. four 2/2 square blocks (turns Gold) or
four different colour blocks (turns silver) you will then
get extra points for them...................... sounds
simple but it adds a whole new depth to the game & I would
highly recomend you look into it, especialy if you have a
mate or three who is also big into Tetris......... also
N64's are so cheap these days.

when your a kid, childhood is ignorance & ignorance is
bliss.

Yeah absolutely - I remember being a kid vividly... Remember
being able to get hours of fun and inspiration just on my
own playing with a He Man character or something!

It's a shame you can't stay like that... You just have to
learn to build more and more barriers over the years though,
to protect you from all the dark things in the world.

Being a kid is like being on acid - You can get hours of fun
from simple things - But if someone has a go at you you'll
end up all upset/freaked out.. Or if you see something
disturbing on tv or something.

Yeah Chrono Trigger was one of the best roleplays I ever
played... Probably only second to Shadowrun for me..

I'm quite into the Gamecube these days - I never thought I'd
get into videogames like I used to be... But nintendo are
really trying to bring the fun/playability back..

I had to put up alot of barriers from too young an age
really, as a result I am a very defensive person & not very
easy to get along with unless in a comfortable situation, I
have quite a deppressive personality but deep down I think I
am just the same little guy who used to sing his own little
made up tunes (still the same now, just use a pc instead) on
the swing in the back garden during the summer time at my
nans (the only place I was ever truly happy)...... home time
was barrier time 8(

hehe, sorry, didn't mean to offend.

I understand where you're coming from though, I appologize.
For me though, I start pulling out my hair in clumps trying
to decide whether I liked Half life or Super Mario RPG
more... how do you even compare games over so many years in
so many platforms and genres?

Yeah! I don't even "do" uncomfortable situations these
days... Hehe - I'm incredibly anti-social without either
weed or alcohol, unless I'm with people I really know
well...

I kind of think it's a shame the way kids are sent to school
to fend for themselves at such a young age... Basically to
become desensitized and conditioned for the
workplace/society... At the same time killing their
imagination.

Llamatron - by Jeff Minter

Used to play it all the time on my Atari ST - Most addictive

times playing that. I'm also partial to the Monkey Island

hard question!

i still think my favourite is Zelda: Ocarina Of Time.

but Donkey Kong Country 1, Mystical Ninja Goemon II (on n64,
the 2D one - i know it's #6 or #7 in Japan, not #2...),
Sonic 3 are close seconds...

I bought the original playstation just so I could play FF7.
I sold it promptly after I finished.

I started replaying final fantasy 7 on PC last week. Fucking
glorious, amazing game.

it's a toss-up between Jumpman lives! by apogee software and
one must fall 2097 by epic.
