when you watch it,

1) during a wide fight scene, stand up and exclaim "Where's
Waldo?"
2) laugh and point every time someone dies
3) wonder out loud if the hobbit will run for the governor
of california
4) wait until the end and say "lucas could have done a
better job".
5) open a jar of moths during an epic scene

somebody else made these up

Why in the hell do people go to the theatre anyway? I still
have plenty of movies I havn't seen available on dvd/vhs
from like, 1989. Same goes for videogames. Morons are buying
playstion 2's for like 600 buck (including games) while I'll
wait until the same lot is 50 bucks on ebay.

when I go to the theater I eat my popcorn and candy really
loud and smack my lips together, and make loud noises with
my drink and stuff, and talk during the movie a lot, because
I like to make people turn around and tell me to be quiet,
and then totally not be, and keep at being louder.

wMw: you could have done what I did and get a stolen PS2 for
like 100 bucks brand new, almost 3 years ago now when they
were 550$. it even came with a game. brand new in the box
ps2 and all.

If you're going to end up doing something illegal anyway, it
seems you might as well go all the way and steal it yourself
without having to pay the hundred bucks.

Ah ha ha ha ha, the twin towers have santa hats.

this was AMAZING...

i KNEW when i first heard about peter jackson doing these
that he was the guy for the job.

the climax at mt. doom (some of you knwo what i mean) had me
TOTALLY gripping my seat armwrests.

id discuss details, but i dont want to spoil it for those
who've never read the books/haven't seen it.

breathtaking.

the ending was a tiny bit long, but thats ok. it's wrapping
up 3 films, so it's cool.

wow. this one really feels like you've gone through
something BIG and come out the other end.

bravo!

Saw it earlier...

Really enjoyed it. Beautifully shot, of course, and the
sound design stood out a lot more in this one to me. Lots of
cool sounds here and there.

I seen it yesterday, it's definately one of the best films
i've ever seen at the cinema and probably the best of the
trilogy. The Shelob scene was awesome!

funniest line in the whole film:

"this one's for frodo! and THIS one's for the shire! and
THIS one's for my old gaffer!!!"

YEAH! :D

legolas was much cooler wreckin that oliphant than he was
sliding on that shield in two towers.

and eowyn totally gets props from me for her part on the
battlefield (nudge nudge) when she co-wrecked dude-man.

awesome film, and i dont usually even like/watch these kinda
big budget american films

stupidest line in the film goes to legolas, when aragon has
just been banging on about distracting the enemy, and 5 mins
later legolas goes: yes, a diversion!

yeah, this film had alot less cheesy lines than the first 2,
imo.

even the singing stuff was done well.

num 3 has to be better cos it actually has an ending after 3
fucking hours of bladder bursting torture rather than just
stopping at an arbitrary cut off point. fuck that pissed me
off so much with the other 2.

I thought it was fucking great. I am a huge fan of the
books so of course i was dissapointed about some of the
things ommited or changed in the movie. but as a film, i
think it works very effectively, remaining very loyal to the
themes of the source material. and presenting the world and
its characters in a very believable fashion, something that
is critical to the text.

it is long, and i noticed the audience becoming restless,
but i think the length is necessary to avoid cheating the
audience. all the loose ends are tied up and all the major
themes are addressed.

i loved it. the part where pippin sings for the steward i
was all "nononono NONONO NOOOO SINGING" but then it turned
out to be really artsy and awesome and stuff (the disgusting
food consumption did it for me).

the makup for "part-way" smeagol was too bulky.

legolas pisses me off, in the second film it was him surfing
down the stairs in this one it was him taking down an
oliphant. i only like it when he does little cool things
(like grab the horse in mid sprint and flip up onto it).

the ending wasn't too long considering what the real ending
is (which i really wanted to see). they should have killed
solomon like they did in the book.

frodo smiled for too long at the end.

but anyway it was awesome, TOTALLY (except those parts i
mentioned)

I also thought the singing was done very well.. the way it
kind-of fades into the soundtrack, adding to the cinematic
score. Especially, considering how important singing and
storytelling are in the books, i was glad to see it worked
into the film without being awkward. something like that,
not done correctly could become distracting and comical.

yeh, i likey.
