"The most elaborate and terrible use of torture recounted
in the Bible is the punishment inflicted on the people of
Rabbah after the city had been taken by David and his able
general, Joab. The prisoners were sawed apart between planks
or buried up to their necks. Plows and harrows were driven
over some of them, while others were put into brick kilns
and roasted.

"The most grotesque Biblical punishment was that of
Menelaus, the renegade high priest who had gone over to the
Syrians during the Maccabaean Revolt but having offended the
king, was sent to Berea and thrown into a tower of ashes
fifty cubits high to suffocate slowly." [cubit=length of
forearm]

I was watching Fox news yesterday and the woman presenting
it said

"Maybe if Saddam won't give the US any information we should
allow the locals to interogate him using their methods"

the guest said:

"We can't really do that because if he were to die in
custody it would look very bad for the United States"

to which the presenter replied:

"So sadly torture is not an option?"

And this is the news network that claim to give nothing but
fair, objective and balanced news. :D

i think it's funny that some people are making an issue of
Saddam being humiliated on camera after his capture.

fuck is it scary that the media can get people riled up
enough to want to torture Saddam Hussein without giving them
a fucking clue about what he or his regime is really
about..."mass graves."

And that fucking 5 second clip of him being inspected? As
though they are checking if he is sick or has lice? It's
put out by the fucking ministry of truth, even the room they
are in that video is exactly what the ministry of truth is
like in 1984. It's just some fucking stage and they shaved
this guy's head and set up lights and put together a 10
second clip to play on the news 100x.

The world is getting soo scary.

there are lots of good tortures that have been used before,

one invovlves little metal rods that are shoved into your
body at the right spots to keep you alive for days, but in
the worst pain you could possibly be in, all your joint,
organs and whatnot are effected leaving you helpless and
rendered as pudding left on the floor to die.

mmmm not rilly

umberto eco did a really cool "editors review" of de sade
(along with the bible, homers odessy, shakespeare etc
etc)that just perfectly summed up all the reasons why I dont
like him, its in his book "misreadings"
worth a looksee

oh blah, over extended wank fantasies interspersed with
extraneous chunks of philosophy

Id rather read something like jenet or burroughs any day,
though admittedly most of my reading doesnt make it much
past fin de siècle

crucifixtion by being tied to a cross, it takes you three
days to suffocate to death after your lungs are too weak to
breath in anymore.
(not being nailed, you will pass out from blood loss, saving
you a lot of pain)

In medieval China there were several increadible methods of
torturing, the worst I think was when Rats were shoved in
peoples asses, the ass then stiched severely so the Rats
couldnt escape. Death would come after a few days when the
Rats had eaten their way up through the victims
body........how fucked up is that! :)

I read of a rather nasty form of torture, where
prisoners were staked down and rotten meat stuffed up their
nostrils. Flies would lay their eggs in the rotting meat,
and eventually maggots would hatch inside the nose.
