If I understand things correctly, Squarepusher also records
as Chaos AD. Now Chaos AD is the title of (arguably)
Sepultura's best album.

Is there an interview anywhere where Tom gives credit to
Sepultura for this moniker? Or is Chaos AD a phrase that is
commonly used?

i don't know - but i noticed this too. Tom did say in an
interview once that he once was in a thrash-metal group -
perhaps he has listened to Sepultura a bit...

"arise" is the best sepultura cd, "beneath the remains"
second ;)

well sepultura (before cavalera's departure) is easily
divided into two different eras - the die-hard thrash era,
and the slower, gutteral metal era. I can honestly say
"Beneath the Remains" is the best album from their thrash
era, and "Chaos AD" for their more gutteral era. But "Roots"
is worth mention.

The Misfits song I think you're referring to is called
"Earth AD."

I used to own Sepultura's "Chaos AD" but I hated it. Max
Cavalera is a shitty singer and a shitty lyricist.

thethirdball, Carcass's "Heartwork" is a great album.

You really dont like max? I think Soulfly is a great band.
The exception being that i really didn't like the newest
release they have that much. I still enjoy the first release
over the others.

Can we all put our differences aside and agree that Slayer
are the best?

i feel exactly the same. Chaos AD is a great album and
easily Sepultura's best. none of their other albums is as
intense as this one, imo.

i'd say the same about Carcass's Heartwork - it's an
excellent album indeed. to say it's the best grind core
won't be enough i think... it's one the best metal albums
ever!

i dont generally enjoy listening to metal bands like this
much - but i do remember having a copy of chaos ad at one
time & really appreciating some aspects of it.
for me, personally, i always tired of metal quite quickly..
not sure why

I found the Buzzcanner vinyl in a metal shop, the reason I
found it there you can imagine it. It was a mistake made by
their distribuitors, obviously they were expecting the
Sepultura record.

My favorite album of Sepultura is Beneath the remains

... primitive future!!

Soulfly's riffs are really primitive and boring. Plus Max
just grunts about the spirit flying free and dumb stuff like
that. He sounds like a caveman. I like DM a lot, so it's
not the fact that he's "growling," he just sucks, imo.

And yes, Slayer does rule. Well, they did anyway.
