dido definitely gets my vote on this one.
im not one for complaining.. my advice to myself would be
'just dont listen', but she seems to be everywhere again at
the moment.
sigh.

i don't dislike her.. i thought she had some potential when
i heard the first lp. but its sounding tired already.. and i
don't like rollo's squeaky clean production on her tracks..
makes it all sound really flat.

i actually haven't heard the new one, so maybe i'll feel
differently once i do. however, i've not heard many good
things about it. heh. but i definitely enjoyed the first
album. it was pretty good.

lighthouse family must take the biscuit on this one.. i
still can't forgive my mother for liking them. didnt come
home to visit her for a year until the novelty of the record
wore of.. she went through a phase of putting it on all the
time.

its not even that i hate it (in a way thats good, because at
least its provoking a reaction).. but i just feel NOTHING..
which is so much worse.

sigh

There's nothing boring about Dido. Her albums contain a lot
more variation than much of the IDM out there.

Dianogah (quite possibly the whitest band on Earth.)

The Foo Fighters

Chris Clark

SAW 85-92

Aphex Twin's "Classics" album

Boards Of Canada

50 Cent

The Ex

Sigur Ros

Jet

Train... to name a few.

I could add more to this list if the thread title was
"boring and shitty music.."

The "shitty" list would be pretty long.

Boring to me is something that isn't exactly poorly done,
but just doesn't do anything for me.

"Shitty" would be something like "Fountains Of Wayne," "The
All American Rejects" or "A Simple Plan".

I agree.

Speaking of Simple Plan, they killed two birds with one ball
of hardened shit. here are the lyrics from their new X-mas
song:

Santa is coming tonight
And I want a car, and I want a life
And I want a first class trip to Hawaii
I want a lifetime supply
Of skittles & slurpees and Eskimo pies
I want a DVD,
A big screen TV
Just bring me things that I don't need

::Chorus::
'Cuz now it's Christmas
And I want everything
I just can't wait
Christmas
So don't stop spending
I want a million gifts, that's right
Don't forget my Christmas list tonight
'Cuz now it's Christmas

Somebody take me away
Or give me a time machine
To take me straight to midnight
I'll be alright

I want a girl in my bed
Who knows what to do
A PlayStation 2
I want a shopping spree
In New York City
Just bring me things that I don't need

::Chorus::

I wish I could take this day
And make it last forever
And no matter what I get tonight
I want more

It's Christmas and I want everything
I just can't wait
It's Christmas and I want everything now

etc...

i can see why you think boc is boring, but if youre in the
right mood for some nice melodys and some slow soft beats
you jsut gotta lvoe them =P

u at least gotta admit that they have many many nice melodys
in their songs

The majority of boy band music and shit like R. Kelly and 50
Cent is very boring for me personally. I personally like
Dido, quite a nice voice in my humble opinion.

Gangsta rap and all that D.I.Y. garage shite like Dizzee
Rascal.

Like i was sitting at this party and some guy put R.Kelly's
new album on, god it was so bland and so boring. I just put
some Múm on and swayed to that.

I agree with the DJ, i am seriously re-considering getting
Dizzee Rascal's new album after briefly listening to it. I
like 'Fix up' and 'Hold ya Mouth' but nothing else kinda
jumped out at me.

I think the problem is that it just sounds so simple, but i
might give it a second listening.

In saying that though, The Streets album is excellent.

I like their old stuff (old tunes vol. 1 & 2); the
unreleased material and whatnot.

I think shit like Geogaddi is powerfully boring.

why do lots of you describe music as boring when you just
don't like it? Do you know what you're talking about?

it's such an ignorant answer.

bland. I have that breakbeat in my archive, it's not
difficult to loop....oh look now I have the majority of the
track, complete talentless bollocks.

incredibly boring, very bland, doesn;t grab my attention and
i don't take any pleasure or joy in listening to it.
