Turbulent Sleep

I wrote it last night after a nightmare. This nightmare
involved me trying to reach a light switch on an oscillating
ceiling fan, and also consisted of my computer basically
dying. I heard this melody in my dream near the end, and
when i woke up i realized what it was - a distant train
horn.

It was 2 am this morning, and I quickly rushed to a keyboard
to write down the melody before i drifted back to sleep. I
finished it today.

Not a big fan I'm afraid...lovely drum work as usual, but
the track lacked quite a lot of feeling and mood. Some
sections are nice...but overall I don't think it is close to
your best work.

ah thank you for listening!

perhaps the melody is a bit thin? i'm starting to notice
that as i listen to it...

Yep, the track sounded a little flat. You need to use some
fuller sounds, expand it out a bit.

Do you do your tracks in midi? What do you use for the drum
sequencing?

the sequencing is either with hammerhead for the grooves,
and is then cut-up and fucked around with with sound
recorder then cut and paste for the scattershot bits.

all the keyboards are live-played from a Yamaha PSS-470,
then sequenced with hammerhead.

btw, i've never heard yours - since my comp seems to be
working again, i'll try and check it out - i am on dial-up
though, so as usual there's no guarantee.

"the quest of hero Q" is quite a grower. Like the melody on
this quite a lot. Mmm good stuff. My kinda of vibe for sure.
Yeah nice. Gotta keep this one.

hey, fresh beat. like hella fresh.
i think the synth pads lose some of their sweetness due to
the low bitrate so i'm not really diggin the synths. but
the crazy breaks are phat.

i like the melody, its pretty chill. but i think
deffinately the beats are carrying this track. the beats are
the best part, the meats yo. ya know what i'm sayin?
'specially at the 4 min mark.

so in summary:

beats = lush
synth pad sounds = meh
melodys = chill

this rocks! i like the synths and drums sounds a lot. i
think the melody is great. the only thing that seems a
little out of place is those high-pitched synth breaks -
perhaps if they were lower in the mix? this is one of my
all-time favorite oddioblenders!

I ain't into mega technical multi layer left speak spacial
fuck jack wad this and the other shit. Gimne a good melody
and a decent enough beat and thats all I care about.
Lektrogirl does the most simplest of trax no spacial speaker
this that and the layer integrated beat effect bollox just
straight up simple tunes and beats. And they're damn
enjoyable. Thats the kinda spirit I think Oddi is aiming
for.

demo to bleepstreet - which she is apparently associated
with.
