Yes and all scout leaders are paedophile, rascist, right
wing scum.

Send your kids to play with others in your commune, hippie
:P

On a serious note, my personal view is that the character
defamation of Baden Powell started (comparatively recently,
I might add) is merely an invention of the liberal left, who
see scouting as brainwashing kids into future soldiers and
citizens that the state wants and will say anything to put a
bad name on it.

True Baden Powell's views on race, were in modern terms,
pretty offensive, but he was actually seen as very liberal
by (and came under great opposition from) his peers as an
army officer. He successfullly brought a great deal of
indian boys to scouting and tried repeatedly (although
unsuccessfully) to encourage young blacks to join. At the
time the idea of kids from minorities joining an
organisation primarily made up of white kids was
revolutionary and he got a lot of flack from the
authoraities for it.

On the subject of pedophillia, any man who takes an interest
in kids is eyed with suspicion, perhaps now more than at any
other time... I really feel for men who want to be
childminders or paediatricians. The same people who scream
for womens rights often retain the historical view that
children are a woman's role and think there is something
unusual about men who want to help in some way. There is no
conclusive (or even half way decent) proof that baden powell
was a paedophile and I strongly doubt that he was.

On a personal note, I help out because I have a great deal
of gratitude to the organisation and want to repay it for
all the good it has done me. It's also very rewarding when
you see the positive effect it has on the kids that go.
Sure, it can breed militarianism (a lot of my mates in the
forces have been through scouting), but that's not
neccessarily a bad thing compared to how some of the kids
would of turned out had they not been to scouts. I also keep
my political and religious views out of it a

as any techer in a school is required to do. I try to give a
balanced view and let the kids decide for themselves.

Tits: Good DMX Krew & Tracy track... A lot of the spooky
international stuff is good- you heard part 3 of disco
nouveau?

hey chill! Twas just a question. I wasn't entirely sure
whether what I heard was truth or random crap. And I hardly
insinuated that the rest of the organisation was synonymous
of pedophila/racism...

I was joking, I get flack from my mates about it all the
time... most leaders do, comes with the territory :)

Titsworth: That track you played was off disco nouveau- part
1, there are 4 parts to the series (1,2,3 and "addendum")
bit of a case of "right place, right time" as the popularity
of electroclash soared shortly after they were released. Not
sure if you can still get 'em as all 4 are limited. The 4
are available on viny or together all on 1 cd (allbeit
without an instrumental version of one track that features
on disc2 of the vinyl). part 2 is probably the weakest, but
part 3 and addendum both have some really good tracks. I
think my favourite is I-F ft. Nancy Fortune "Holographic
voice" which is on part 3. The production on her voice
sounds disturbingly like that of the new britney spears
track (this was out first). The Adult track "Nite Life" also
on part 3 is good as well. Very pure techno, but with
electroclash vocals (I wish they do some decent lyrics for
once, nichola has a great dirty voice, but the lyrics are
insanely cheesy...).

neetz: DLing now.

*hangs head in shame* still haven't got (or seen) Scratch...

something planned for the january sales or if a relative
gets me some HMV/Virgin vouchers. I have however seen
Wavetwisters and Do it yourself Skratching part 1 (The
latter being more of a how to, but with enough content to
interest people who just like to watch), DIY skratching pt 2
is recently out and also on my "to get" list. Nice to see
his music featuring in some games of late (T.H.U.G., SSX3,
etc.).. that's one place I enjoy music I like cropping up :)

actually i'm doing 3 songs in a row where a singer named
jill scott sounds completely different.. this is the 3rd one
now, some bootleg shit from the roots live in DC, jill
sounds like an egytian pharoahess... the girl is nuts.

after that some madlib and who knows what else!

Glad you're gonna check it out- it's good stuff, but don't
say I didn't warn you about the "cheese on toast" that are
the lyrics in the Adult track ;)
"night lite/quite light/hold tight/turn right...
turn left/like death/quite light/nite life"

Listening to holographic voice again it is unreal how much
you think it's going into a duet with Ms. Spears at any
second.

Good morcheeba track... I love the one on Big Calm that
features the Scratch Perverts (I think it's called "Bullet
Proof") "H-H-Hold it/F-F-Free, Hold it/Free/Hold it/Free".
Ta to Danbrusca for that CD btw :)

Lecoeur: Ah, I thought Scratch was more of a history of
scratching- I didn't realise there were tutorials.

Tits: You might know this- I know Cutmaster Swift is
Outkast's live DJ, but does he feature on any of their
albums?

SHOW YOU HOW TO DO IT! it's so cool.....the Qbert stuff will
make you laugh BIG TIME, that guy seems like such a nice
person.....it's interesting how open they are about their
techniques and everything, it nice to see artists so giving,
and wanting to TEACH others.

get it, it will be something you'll watch many times!!! and
to see some of the DJ battles is CRAZY man

Ah, Diy Skratching is like that- about 1/3 of it is
techniques and tips, the other 2/3s are qbert doing some
funny battles (in crazy costumes with some blue screening).
It also includes my favourite routine ever- qbert at DMC 99,
by a strange coeincedence -when tied to my previous post-
introduced by cutmaster swift.

Done Travis!

Cutmaster Swift does some scratching on the new outkast
albums, ceri

on scratch they show you a lot but most of them don't want
to give away ALL their secrets.. still, you ought to see rob
swift compose scratch notation, it's an interesting and
unique system
