how very disappointing. i'll admit to being moved by glass
if pressed, but by jesus -- it's so unbearably eighties. and
so transparently patronizing.

..majestic nature panoramas CUT TO: truck spewing noxous
fumes (sharp, dissonant violins) CUT TO: patient mountain
vista (lush harmonies) CUT TO: rush-hour traffic (hysterical
chorus)

ugh. ok: a handful of gorgeous shots.

but disappointing.

baraka was better.

-1 for glass.

no way

koyaanisqatsi is my favorite

both the movie and the score rock.

even more so, the score. Its like one of my biggest
influences. Its amazing.

if you weren't... i'd recommend being stoned when you watch
it... it makes it much better, i'm sure... as for the
contrasts... i'd say that i didn't necessarily perceive
society as being portrayed negatively... it just seemed like
some sort of intriguing collective organism... no matter how
much we try to divorce ourselves from nature, we are but an
extension of it... then again, it's hardly the greatest film
in the universe... and i can think of millions of films i'd
rather see again...

yeah, the moral didnt really work for me: i see beatiful
shots of grand canyons, or whatever that is, and clouds and
stuff and then of people in the city and of that space
shuttle, and i think: "beautiful" all the same.
isnt the soundtrack a watered down dance pieces anyway, not
that i like those more, because i knew koyaaniqatski before

deadeight, nice avatar, great album indeed.

a lot of philip glass sounds the same but i still like it.
symphony 5, naqoyqatsi and one other relase i heard had very
similar things going on.
