Finally today I bought Selected Ambient Works Vol. II.
Now, I'm disconcerted. It's totally different from usual sound of RDJ, and totally different from SAW 85-92.
This album remember me the track 11 in Analogue Bubblebath 3.
What do you think about SAW II, and Which are your favourite songs?

selected ambient works II is completely brilliant, and is (unlike SAW I) exactly what it says on the front of the inlay - ambient - very ambient.
this particular collection of tunes definetly serves a purpose for me.

Yes, it's real ambient, not like SAW (85-92).
Also Quino-Phec from Polygon Window is similiar to this kind of sound.
I have to listen SAWII a lot for understand well...

i love "rhubarb" (cd1/track3), "shiny metal rods" (cd2/track3) and this other one, i can't remember the title right now, but i think it was cd1/track6, very dark, very horror-style.
besides, "tha" is from sawI, not sawII

SAWII is the soundtrack to lucid dreaming. If you ever aquire the interest in learning to dream lucidly, or just want to achieve a trance state than the majority of this album will assist you gracefully.

My favourite tracks are 2,3 and 10 of CD2.
SAWII it's real ambient, it's real slow and it's like a hallucination.
Many songs are good for Horror Movies.
The style of SAWII is in the background music of many RDJ tracks.
For example: AUDAX POWDER (PW), ISOPROPANOL (Classics), ACRID AVID JAM, MOOKID (...ICBYD), LUKE JEDI IS ON THE ROMANCE TRIP (CW), 1993841 and 942937 (A.B.B.3), etc..., has sound like SAWII in the background.
Honestly, I like it, but I prefer many other album of Richard.

SAW II is absolutely great - it's produced so much better than SAW I and contains great (proper) ambient tracks. The sound quality of I isn't up to much in comparison.
My favourite tracks are:
CD1 Trk 3 CD1 Trk 7 (as featured in Chris Morris' 'Jam' - ace).
CD2 Trk 12 - fucking amazing. Reminds of the Blade Runner soundtrack. Ace.
SAW II is definitely one of the most cohesive and involving record I've ever listened to. Wicked textures.
CD1 trks 4 and 10 scare me. So does the Groke.
Cheers,
Chris. Ochre www.mp3.com/ochre
