what song, more than any other, makes you want to know 'how
did they do that?'...

i mean, for instance, the sounds, the production....

what would you give your right arm to find out how it was
done?

i can't really think of anything... nine out of ten times
the solution is a lot simpler than we thought it was going
to be anyways, and if not, it could be
:)

I pay underlings to be concerned about such things.

well, sellars, i think you can get an idea of how particular
song was done...i mean its a standard procedure isnt it?
its either software or hardware :) , or did you have
something else in mind?

perhaps name a song you'd like to know abot and we could
tell you our opinion on how was it made...and you can keep
your right hand that way

'how it was made'?
who cares- i'm more concerned with how one would go about
facsimilating it
or better still take something we already know about (like
all the afx lies in interviews (slant eyed smile)) and
figure out a way to do it so it doesn't sound... idunno,
dirty, like afx stuff usually does
anyways, i think what i'm really trying to say, is this is a
useless thread- which is great 'cause i'm a useless person
(i.e. this post)- and anyways i think the two manage to
cancel each other out, so i either i'm about to cease
existing, or i'm about to stop posting in this thread

the suspense is killing me

it's not a pointless question, in fact, it's a very common
question. if you make music yourself, you may be dying to
know how a particular sound or tune was acheived.

for instance, i'd love to know how beck did 'runners dial
zero' or 'steal my body home'...

i'm curious to see what other people are wanting to
figure-out, music-production-wise

yeah ok i see the point with "why bother asking?" but here's
what i'll say:

i used to wonder how les claypool did a lot of things on his
bass, but i found out. so that's that.

Dunno, I pretty much know how to do every technique I have
heard. Track construction is where I have the problem, I
can't put stuff in so it sounds good :P
