I just got a record player, what are some essential records
I need?

Like, stuff that's different on vinyl or exclusive on vinyl
(and not hard to find).

thanks

believe it or not, amazon sells vinyl. Thats where I got
"music has the rights to children" .

Also got "A Shocking Hobby" on Vinyl from novamute but
they only sell artists that they've released, but you might
find some good stuff.

Look into 7" releases on labels like Planet-Mu and Addict.
Get Venetian Snares - Badminton/Edgewood Park.

I ordered a record player about two weeks ago but it didn't
arrive yet. Basic players were nowhere to buy on stock in my
neighbourhood. I'm patient, though. I'm looking forward
mostly in playing records like boards of canada, this will
add so much more 'emotion' into the sound...

10" is cool - I have Stereolab's "Low-fi" on 10" and
it....rocks! :)

never buy the cd if you can find it on vinyl. you can
download data, you can not download vinyl.

try boomkat or groovetech when the site is back up and
working, or bi-wire.co.uk although i dont know what these
would be like with postage to the states. i started buying
vinyl just over a year ago and now prefer it over cd's.

Might need to plug it in to an amp with some speakers.
That needle by itself just isn't loud enough most of the
time.
