Lau Gar Kung Fu - but it's starting to turn into a bit of a
corporation like TAGB T.K.D

I enjoy it but it's all about the money for them now. I'm
glad my Sifu is dedicated to the art rather than the
business.

yeah - this is annoying. Almost every martial art is coming
into piece of shit - look at kickboxing, karate, aikido. So
popular - full of ppl that dont understand what is going on
, what is all about. I hate it.
Bob - these martial arts are for you - just to find your,
there should be many - to pick up the right one , i think

no seriously, they all seem exactly the same to me, all to
achieve the same purpose...

is it japanes hyakusen
i dont think my school's too commercial, though i pay 35
euro a month, and have to sign off three months before i
want to quite, that last part buggers me a bit. but the
teacher is really nice. i still dont really get wether he is
a sifu: before the class we great these picture on the wall
and the teacher says: greetings to sifu (or respects, i dont
know actually) with the last picture, so i guess the teacher
isnt a sifu

sifu is chinese for teacher tho isn't it?

Lau Gar is a nice souther style aswell so we too use
fists... really in close tho... a bit cheeky, little digs
here and there to set up for a big hit.

People are going up there grading ladder so quickly around
the UK. I learn in a rural commun and I've been doing it for
6 years now. I know people in Gloucester that have been
doing it for 2 and have got to the same grade. It's all
about who you know not what you know.

it sucks but I still enjoy it. I'm not in it for the grades.

it is japanese
the best was Bruce lee - Jet could lick his ass , though
he's good - its kung fu ( i havent seen concrete style in
his moves )
Bob - actually styles of fighting have its own philosophy,
althoug all of them are coming from Zen philosophy , which
was created ages ago. too many details to post here - if you
are interested - send me mail i will answer to this.

Martial arts is good fun and you can get all sorts out of
it.
Fitness,
Confidence,
new friends,
flexability
and generally a nicer attitude towards things.

:D

yeah, my school garantees the fourth grade in a year, but
the lessons are pretty tough, so i guess i'll indeed have
learned something. i guess it all depends on how good the
school is anyway.
when i did judo when i was young i couldnt be arsed to learn
all the stuff and just did it to roll around fighting a bit
and least of all with exams. so that was great fun though i
didnt get to any grade in all those years
you're alowed to post on that zen thing hyakusen, i wanna
know too
