First off, let me say Clubbed to Death Kurayamino Variation is my favourite piece of music of all time. I don't rate any other mix of it (with the possible exception of "the first mix") as even coming close (talking about the ones by people like Peshay etc. and even dougan's own remixes of it). It's also not a very easy piece to remix or rework- my own version, aborted and subsequently deleted in anger about half an hour before I was playing out, "Ceriyamino Varaition" (Geddit?) is testament to that. So, bearing all that in mind, don't take this too badly :) It's not bad at all for a first attempt at a track in floops, keep at it and I'm sure you'll make some good stuff. However, I can't say I think it's very similar to the original (but then, few of the remixes of it are) at all. If you had just posted it without mentioning CTD, I'd not of made the connection. The samples let it down a bit, if you had a decent string soundfont and some better drum samples it would be better. |
