i used to love this song back in the day when i thought
those rave remixes of video game themes were awesome. like
the tetris ones and stuff. it was my favourite song for the
longest time, then i was so psyched when i heard it was
aphex.

I like this track, it's a classic, although I've bored
myself of it from listening too much :P

I think this feature (discussing thread) should be improved
in a way that one thread could only be started on one album
(ep or single) no matter what release is it.

there is already a thread about powerpill pacman... but the
cd release

HORRIBLE and WORTHLESS. It was my worst AFX-buy, not worth
the money.

if you never loved the old rave stuff, artemis, then you
were destined never to like this..

by Meat Beat Manifesto...

nope

i dont like rave but i love this record, i never thought of
it as rave...but then again i never listened to rave
(because rave is crap) so i dont know what crap songs your
comparing it to....

anyways its a richie release, and one of his very best id
say, so catchy and varied, plus you gotta love music from
video games...

not a huge rave fan myself - more a nostalgia thing than
anything else. that said, a lot of more contemporary tunes
owe something to that scene.

my point wasnt that rave was great - but that if you didnt
ever like that sort of novelty dance track (trip to
trumpton, charlie etc) then there wasnt going to be much in
pacman for you - as its not that close in style to most afx
releases.

of couse, there are exceptions to every rule.. perhaps you
are one, bob.

Rave classic. Don't diss rave.

im an exception to most rules ;) i dont know who trip to
trumpton, charlie etc
are though, but i like novelty
dance acts alright...i didnt think of pacman as a 'novelty'
though...i noticed a few similarities to later afx
releases...just a few...

and one other thing- acrid milk hall you have the best name
ever.

what tunes do you define as being "rave" xammax?

i find that its one of those genres where the boundaries are
a bit hazy.. one of the pitfalls of endlessly pigeonholing
sounds & styles as so many seem to feel the need to do..

one mans rave is another mans techno, or electro, or
jungle.. you get the gist..
