Chrono Cross, Playstation 1

Ophecks from Nova Scotia on 2001-11-27 15:17 [#00056088]

Anyone play this? The soundtrack is breathtaking,
jawdropping. OK, not Aphex-y at all, but if you can,
download some tracks from that game, lush and beautiful.
Much better than the Final Fantasy Series.

Search for Chrono Cross on Kazaa. Get Scars of Time,
Voyage-Another World, hell, every track is amazing!

the soundtrack is rather good. i enjoy the music from when
you fight miguel and the blue dragon. i believe the final
boss fight has quite good music.

chrono cross is amazing. when i first heard the music for
the other world map i was like 'holy shit thats relaxing". i
must have just sat there listening to it for 5 minutes.

you can get chrono trigger on playstation1 now also. its on
the final fantasy chronicles.

all of squaresoft's sountracks usually kick ass... haven't
heard chrono cross yet, i hate piecing albums together,
people do such a bad job encoding mp3s. any way a good site
for reviews of game sound tracks is here:

soundtrack central

they got thorough reviews/ tracklistings/ and samples... no
this is not an advertisement ;)

I've been listening to Squaresoft music since Final Fantasy
for NES, its partly what got me into electronic music. I
have a friend who has been working all his life to do
soundtracks for Squaresoft's California HQ. We used to play
Dragon Warrior and Final Fantasy 1-3 and Phantasy Star when
we were like 7 years old. Those games are my childhood.
Don't know if he'll ever be able to match the japanese
composer guys (he knows all their names by heart) they have
now, but he's a good pianist and good with his synthesizer
so who knows.

Chrono Trigger for SNES is a much better game, although I
don't remember the music.

Xanatos, if you didn't know, you can get all the Chrono
Trigger, FF, etc music from Zophar's Domain, it's nostalgic.

Xanatos from NYC on 2001-11-27 19:44 [#00056188]

Zophar's domain? URL?

I know all about that nostalgia though, I heard the opening
into to FF2 for SNES for the first time in 6 years a year
ago and I thought I was going to cry...I wasn't kidding
about it being my childhood

zophar's domain

thar' you go

Yeah, just get an SPC player, a GYM player, an NSF player,
and you're set. They have all the song files there, too. I
like SNES Jukebox, and for NES and Sega Genesis I use
Meridian Advance. Plugins dont seem to work on my Winamp, so
I couldn't use IN-gym, Chrispy, but thanks a bunch anyway. I
need a new Winamp...

Oh yeah, you may need Winrar to kind of ''unzip'' some of
those rar files, I did.

can't believe this site is doing this but, go here:

oh man if u wanna hear a crazy sound track from SNES then
look up earthbound. One of the best things about that game
was its sounds!

spasticmatt from mp3.com/spasticmatt on 2001-11-27 20:55 [#00056206]

ophecks, dude, glad to see some chrono fans in here...chrono
cross is dope as FUCK!!! Feral cats is such a frigging coo
spell,hell,all of em are.

the one song in the place where you have to catch those
lizards is the most upbeat coo song ive heard in a game.

Ophecks from Nova Scotia on 2001-11-27 22:21 [#00056231]

Oh yeah, Chrono is the shit, both of them. SNES and PS.

1010, Earthbound is so fucking psychotic, the guys that made
it were heavy into psychedelics, I'm sure.
