Generations will come and go (will come and go)
But there's one thing for sure
Music is our life's foundation
And shall succeed all the nations to come
Yeahah

I hope it's gonna be alright
'Cause the music plays forever
(For it goes on and on and on and on...)
(Yeahah)

The year three thousand may still come to pass
But the music shall last
I can hear it on a timeless wavelength
Never dissipating but giving us strength

I hope it's gonna be alright

======================

i've played this album 2 times already today. xcellent
sounds.

I am so glad this thread was made...

I love the PET SHOP BOYS and I have many favorites. Some
would be....

Yesterday when I was mad
A red letter day (love the meaning behind it)
Shopping
Jealousy (extended version)
I wouldn't normally do this kind of thing
Dreaming of the queen
I want to Wake up (Sped up sounds even better)
To face the truth
Se a Vida e
Flamboyant
Home an Dry
The Theatre
and "Minimal" from the new album is pretty catchy

I'd just like to state my love for the pet shop boys as
well. Inspired my own music a lot. I love:

Flamboyant
Can you forgive her?
Domino Dancing (synths in this one are brilliant)
Being Boring
Heart

Going from Joy Division to New Order to Electronic to Pet
Shop Boys is easy, so I'd have to say 'Rent' being among
their best. I'm writing from the year 1992 btw.

They really sound Gay. Like Gay anthem gay. I like them
though.

i've known their music for ages and still enjoy it. i'd
recommend you the "disco" album if you don't know it.
and...maybe it's generation thing or something. they
were/sounded great in the 80s.

bogala: i enjoyed their music in early childhood and not
knowing that they were/are ghey. i'd say "ghey anthems"
about most of their tracks i heard past the "behaviour"
album. so lame.

They might have lost the soul in their music in the 90s, i'd
agree about that.

Electronic first album was great, i might put it next to
Technique. Too bad New Order didn't go further that
electronic path.

I used to have "Disco" on cassette, I wish I still did,
AWESOME remix album. I remember some review at the time, in
something like Smash Hits, saying something all snooty like
"oooh, an album... of 'remixes', how very Pet Shop Boys".
Short sighted wankers.

i miss my early psb tapes too...they must have been erased
in my grunge period, oh well....

the great thing about Disco and Introspective is that those
versions are so long....and still not boring. 7,8, 9 minutes
- amazing.

I saw a performance of their soundtrack to Battleship
Potemkin in a shipyard a few weeks ago. I was totally blown
away by how good it was.

how about DJ Culture ?

kittylamurka : i watched their interview on youtube this
morning with bits of that performance - which sounds great-
which inspired me to get that album...which i'm slowly
grabbing on slsk.

I remember picking up the first Elelctronic CD in a shop and
I recognised Sumner's half on the cover. I thought it was
some illegal homemade remix thing, so I bought it. They were
selling these weird Depeche remix CD's too, Dreamland and
Razor or something. I have three of those. There's an
unbelievably good mix of Personal Jesus on the gold cover
CD. It has some weird voice saying "..the lord Jesus Christ
himself.."

(listening to Dio's Don't talk to strangers right now haha)

DJ Culture, i remembered that yesterday in the bathroom.
There's no real connection between the two things.

i forgot today to check back that first Electronic record.

d_belch : everytime i try to forget about this thread
someone comes in and reminds me about PSB and makes me
launch any album by them. dunno what to say next.

i'll listen to "introspective" and "behavour disc 2" now
remembering you in the bath with whole dj culture, right.

reading introspective and other Neil Tennant lyrics makes me
think about the level of lyrics by songwriters these days.

NT > today

It's good to see there's quite a few PSB fans here - I know
when I was most into them, between 88 and 92, there were
considered very uncool in my school. I remember they played
Left To My Own Devices at the school disco, and I was the
only one who seemed to be enjoying it :\

another copy

...right at this moment : it couldn't happen.....it couldn't
happen.....it couldn't happen.....it couldn't happen.....it
couldn't happen.....it couldn't happen.....it couldn't
happen.....it couldn't happen.....it couldn't happen.....it

I've just listened to Please and it's fantastic. I
used to have this on casette and listen to it loads when I
was younger. Bought the LP the other day in oxfam and there
are some absoutely wicked tunes on the first side...

A1 Two Divided By Zero (3:34)
A2 West End Girls (4:45)
A3 Opportunities (Let's Make Lots Of Money) (3:43)
A4 Love Comes Quickly (4:19)
A5 Suburbia (5:30)

Fantastic. If you have this go and listen to it asap. When I
have some free time, I'm going to sit there with the akai
for hours sampling everylast fantastic bit of this and
manipulate it into a new form....
