I feel exactly the same about the RDJ album. I use to actually feel energy coursing through my body on "4". It only slightly wore off after so many listens. The first 5 songs are so superior to almost everything else that you need to find the right state of mind before you listen to it. I definately suggest "come to daddy" and "windowlicker", but with aphex twin, I think he made an extraordinary leap from fairly average music to insane masterpieces right at the RDJ album. It was like something biological in his brain inverted, tripling the power of the fractal nature of his memory storage. These songs are just perfect, and so unique, the fact is I can't describe how good they are (IMHO). Do you know you can listen to stuff before you buy at such sites as www.cdnow.com? Also get Download "eyes of stanley pain" and everything by autechre since tri repetae.

Aphes discography is amazing. He has done so much stuff. When you can offord it try to get the Hangable Auto bulb Eps. You will have to get these from www.ebay.com. Expect to pay between $25.00 to $50.00 for HAB1 and up to $100 for Hab2. They are excellent.

I never even heard of those, are they as complex and insane as his newer material, or are they average like caustic window and analogue bubblebath?

If you liked the richard d album youll love hangable auto bulp!
this is the first "drill and bass" he made. more beatifull melodies, more frantic beats
if youre curios get the track laughable butane bob, it sets the style of the rest
(Laughable butane bob forms an anagram with hangable auto bulb by the way :))

Polygon Window is one the best album and it's a masterpiece.
In this period Polygon Window and Hangable Auto Bulb EP1&2 are my favourite.

that's how it began, a very innocent group of people who just wanted to discuss music. But since then we have hybrid trolls and dupes, posts which no one can full understand, not even psychologists, offensive images, angry torrents of abuse and cute things in between
