hmmm... you have very good taste. =D
however, most of these "free" album offers from music mail-order services are usually another front to get you to buy something.

i really really don't like columbia house. i've been a member for a while and i think and there are a few thing that anger me about it:
1. their prices, like $18 for a cd (although their usually do "buy one get two free" or something like that.) this would be tolerable if they had a good selection but its mosty "pop" music that you could go to the store and pick up for about $12.
2. shipping prices are outrageous ($3 for each cd i think - thats worse than shipping from warpmart in uk and warpmart takes less than 2 weeks to arive and columbia house takes about 1 month+ usually)
3. the selection is bad (although i must give them some credit, i discovered aphex twin, boards of canada, and orbital through this club)
sorry about that, there are just some words that make me angry and columbia house is one of them.

columbia house is so bad, i did that twice i think, yeah you get some "free" cds but you have to pay ridiculous amounts for the ones you have to buy(plus they dont have a great supply of good stuff...though they do have some)

yeah, they use the shipping and processing charges to offset the free and discounted cd's. but you can still get great deals. you just have to figure the price for the whole shebang to see if it's worth it. when they have deals like buy one, get three free, it's definitely worth it. oh and the box sets are always on sale, which is nice. the selection sucks, which is why I don't order more often from them.

oh, and I've been a member for a very long time, so I don't have any obligation to them. it's a straight deal, believe me.

They ARE pretty good. Fun to buy all your CDs from them so that you can quit and rejoin for 13 more free or whatever it is. They do charge a bit more for regular CD purchases, but over the long haul, you save quite a lot. You only have a buy a handful (and there's some crazy deals in there at times) before you can get your 13 free... that offsets it.
