Mary-Anne Hobbs just announced that Squarepusher is doing a set for the Radio 1 Breezeblock on 8 May. Still no news of the promised Aphex set, though. Anyone know any more info?
As for Squarepusher's new tune, it sounds disconcertingly pop. It gets played on the radio, for one thing. With Big Loada, he was taking drum & bass and remaking it in his own way; I think he's trying to do the same with UK garage this time. We need an equivalent term to 'drill & bass' for this new monster... any suggestions, before the press get there?

I think the new tune's called Red Hot Car. It's on the radio, though not released yet. I shall search Audiogalaxy for it. It's recognisably Squarepusher, but the beat is quite commercial and it has a vocal.
UK Toolshed, on second thoughts.
