"the texas chainsaw massacre" is a thrill show consisting of the colorful simulation of serial murder. some video games also sell the thrill of simulated violence against people. so many people seem to believe that the truly peaceful are passive and weak. violence is seen as an expression of power, control, strength. i can only hope that each of us will learn the depth of this lie. |

while these films are sick, disgusting, etc.. maybe it is best that the imaginary films do exist to eliminate the market of REAL films of this type to depraved individuals who are into that sort of thing. but one could make the argument that their very existence adds fuel to the perversion in many, but who knows what would happen if the simulations didn't exist? There possibly could be an increase in violent crimes like the ones on these tapes, or tapes of actual crimes like these being distributed instead. i think it's a kind of "lesser of two evils" sort of deal here.. |

i'm not saying it would cancel it out, i'm just saying the people who are drawn to that sort of thing would be more likely buy the legal "fake" videos and give their money to the lesser evil of those companies instead of to actual rapists/murderers. also, you'd think that the people who's minds are deeply embedded into this perversion are the way they are because of some kind of trauma from the past or something seriously wrong with their brains, but if they don't seek professional help, the perversion will continue grow and most likely eventually replace any idea of actual "love" in their minds that might have existed at one point. i'm just saying that for these people, who very likely have no form of sexual expression/outlet, it would be better for them to "get off" from these fake videos, instead of only fostering those immoral ideas within their mind, and "getting off" from the thought of actually doing that to someone they know and then possibly going out and really doing it. i'm not saying that it wouldn't ever happen if they watched their fantasies played out on video each day with actors, but it seems like those violent fantasies and feelings would exist within their minds with or without such videos. there's really no good answer, except professional help. |

I still say, I think those are two different markets. if you are sick enough, you don't want anything fake, you just want the real thing. the fake stuff will not appeal to them in any way. same goes for the people who just have this fantasy - they don't want the real thing, it has to be acted. it might be possible that for some people the fake stuff is a step towards wanting the real stuff. |
