is this release any good?
im not sure what it is...i just read cover rapidly,
apperantly there are some remixes for private press on this
one?

i was lookig for some cool music but i couldnt find any :(
i only bought "small change" by tom waits and a brilliant
record by slovenian hip hop/rap duo slon in sadez...one of
the funniest releases ever, they're extremely sarcastic,
hopefully someday they'll decide and make a record ni
english, im sure lots of you would of enjoy them...

anyway, im going back to store now as im going to get the
new strokes album (which i havent seen before) and i was
thinking if i should get this dj shadow as well?

yes, this is the one, but im really interested what the

are like

that's it. tracks 1-5 are an AUDIO cd, the 2 videos are on a
DVD.

the z-trip remix of "right thing" is AMAZING. it really does
set the party off! one of my favorite remixes ever. the
unkle remix of "GDMFSOB" is very cool too, has south park
samples and roots manuva going absolutely MAD. the "walkie
talkie" edit is cool, it's clean and has different samples.
i think it's better than the album version. the "six days"
remix by soulwax is basically just the a capella of "six
days" over an instrumental song by the b-52's. great surf
rock. i can't remember the edit of "mashin'", it's probably
just a clean edit with maybe 2 or 3 different things
musically. the two music videos are fun. the cover of the cd
is from the "mashin'" video.

my advice: get it. even if you didn't like 'the private
press' it's FUN enough that you can't help but like it.

now if it was a normal price i'd already bought it...but it
is a bit more expensive to a normal release so if this is
like those private press tunes it would be money thrown away

cool, just what i was hoping for!

gonna go get it now...and that new the strokes album - i've
heard their new single on the radio today and liked it a lot

I would get it as its very similar to the private repress
(japan only)

which has:

01 Intro
02 Six Days (Soulwax Mix)
remix by Soulwax
03 Gdmfsob (Unkle Uncensored)
featuring Roots Manuva, remix by UNKLE
04 Interlude
05 Walkie Talkie (Extended Radio Edit)
06 Six Days (Remix)
featuring Mos Def
07 Disavowed
co-produced by Zack de La Rocha
08 Interlude
09 Right Thing (Tokio Ghetto Tech Remix)
remix by KZA
10 Mashin on the Motorway (Radio Edit)
vocals by Lateef The Truth Speaker
11 Right Thing (Z-Trip 'Get The Party Off Mix' In Three
Parts)
mixed by DJ Z-Trip
12 Outro

as you see most of the tracks here are on the ep you are
about to buy.
I ve got the private repress and I like it a lot

but if you didnt like the private press...mmmm I am not sure
what you should do

so the private repress has all tracks from "Mashin' On The
Motorway/Walkie Talkie EP" except the "Mashin' On The
Motorway" video.

and apart from that it has also:
-Six Days (Remix) featuring Mos Def
-Disavowed co-produced by Zack de La Rocha
-Right Thing (Tokio Ghetto Tech Remix) remix by KZA

why do japanese always get the best of everything??

-Six Days (Remix) featuring Mos Def
"Six Days "single

-Disavowed co-produced by Zack de La Rocha
"You Can't Go Home Again" single (I have this). "Disavowed"
is great!

-Right Thing (Tokio Ghetto Tech Remix) remix by KZA
and short interludes

exclusives!

tolstoyed: because they have a huge problem with their
buyers. import cd's are cheaper than japanese cd's so they
always have to have japanese only releases or special
versions with bonus tracks. i can think of many examples of
this, it's very common.

the person speaking at the beginning of the z-trip remix is
dj shadow himself (from the documentary "scratch")

the roots manuva/UNKLE remix is so techno.. what a drastic
remix of the original song!

i need to see that scratch...i hope i can find it somewhere

i agree on the mix, it has that great unkle touch to it,
much better stuff to private press or never never land...i
especially like the vocals (dont know roots manuva actually,
i heard a lot of talk about him, but dont know any of his
stuff)
