who does this ? what gear do you use ? what's your fav
environment to record ? what bitrates and file extensions do
your prefer ? is there any way to convert it to FTP, so I
can sequence it for .sfk ? and about 10000000 other
questions.... but any help at all would be appreciated

for all of the 8bit works i've done lately, i've generated
each note in the melody using a freeware program called NCH
Tone Generator, which is perfect for making squares,
triangulars and any other raw sound you need.

it is also perfect for making stereo harmonies with ease -
you can also have up to 12 tones playing together all at
once - put that in stereo, which an additional tone in each
speaker, and you've got 24 notes blaring in surround sound.
nice.

www.nch.com does not look like it would have anything to do
with music creation software.

if you want vocal samples... just record off dvd's. the
stranger the movie, the better the samples... i've recorded
pres bush talking on the tv...

combine bush with monty python samples and you are creating
art.

just plug in your crappy computer microphone and record
absolutely anything.. and then cut it up and "sequence" it,
changing pitches, adding effects, etc..
in my songs i've used recordings with my built-in computer
mic of my teeth chattering, flicking the little tab on a
soda can/crushing/crunching the can, hitting a thin wooden
strip against the monitor, nose wheezing, coughing, nagging
parents, phone messages from grandma, cd-rs breaking in
half, feedback, knuckles cracking, toes cracking, neck/back
cracking, breathing, bongo drums, me eating a bowl of cereal
disgustingly noisily, pounding on the desk with lots of
loose change on it jingling, etc, etc, etc...

I hate the unprocessed sound, tho.... sounds so
unprofessional.... I hate to resort to using electronic
voices rather than take out a loan and get some decent
sampling gear
