The artwork for this album is fucking perfect!

his finest to date... the dsp trickery at work here is
unsettling... it's a very tactile 3-dimensional barrage of
sound... and not to cluttered that you can't appreciate that
mu ziq sound....

yeah, i think a lot of people got thrown off by the hardcore
dsp-ness of the whole album. But you can still hear mike's
style all the way through the album. I actually didn't like
it at first, but that definately changed.

yeah, it definitely took me several listens to make sense of
all of it... but the more you hear it... the more spaced out
it seems, and the more you can enjoy the overall elasticity
of everything...

Mike is still the king of (intelligent) dance music.

Agree with Ceri about Meinheld.

Silk Ties best harsh track of 2003.

I like it a lot but I happen to be one of those weird guys
who likes µ-Ziq even more than Aphex Twin. But nothing
beats the "Lunatic Harness" album.

this album is blowing my mind

top uziq

this man is a genious, I though nothing could be better than
tango n vectif, but lunatic harness and this are at the
level.

seriously, great happyness to see him in such a great state
of creativity.

I am surprised, royal astronomy was a nice album, but this
one is one of those unforgetable ones...

anyway these are just first impressions

Meinheld was my favourite at first, but to be honest i'm
bored of it now.

Grape Nut Beats (Pt.1) on the other hand, still feels
delicious. a real booty-kicking track

it's a great album, but i was slightly disappointed when i
heard the original of "silk ties" by producer and hellfish -
it's practically the same track!?!?!? i can't say how much
of other tracks are actually his work, i hope a lot more
than on silk ties though :)

it's a nice album non the less tho!!!

I'm not generally crazy about µ-ziq but I really like the
most tracks on this album. It is also very diverse, he
incorporates more musical styles here (maybe it's because of
what tolstoyed wrote). I haven't listened to "royal
astronomy" yet though.

well, you can read on the cover that he used plenty of
samples...tho it seems he made a compilation instead :)

it's great

from the milkfactory:

"Bilious Paths marks the extremely convincing return to
musical activities of one of the pioneers of the electronica
scene. Not only has Mike Paradinas carefully observed what
the new generation of musicians were doing , but he has
continued to develop and mature during these four years,
finally offering an album that places him once again far
ahead of the pack. Bilious Paths is simply Paradinas’s
most impressive release to date."

perhaps they don't read what's written on inlay, at
milkfactory's :)

some remixes, some samples and voila...we get a brilliant
album.

for a couple weeks when it first came out . Dont listen to
it at all now though. I agree Meinholdt is the best track on
the album , id like to see an ep of remixes a la brace

Seriously though, this album does next to nothing for me,
and come to think of it, neither does Mike Paradinas.
Repeated use of distorted effects, yet MORE reminders of
what old school jungle sounded like, uninspiring melodies...
nah, he can keep it.

this last µziq release isn't a masterpiece, anyway meinheld
and silk ties are wonderful tracks.
meinheld is inside my top5 of 2003.

for what I read in that pic you posted just 3 of the tracks
appear in other releases.

the three are edited or extended and one of them is a track
by him and the other two are edited or extended versions of
remixes he had done of other artists tracks

so I would say its 99% his material

and we are talking about 3 tracks out of 12

so I wouldnt say its like a compilation or anything

tolstoyed: Silk Ties is not a Hellfish+Producer track. it
was a Mike P single on Deathchant under Rude Ass Tinker. The
version on Bilious Paths is just and edit of his own track.
The remix is Grape nut Beats Pt1 which is not that similar
to the DJ Producer track Witch Hunt - it's in 6/8 for a
start and the melodic samples are backwards and cut up.

ok...looks like i confused things a bit...

btw, if anyone knows where could i find more stuff like
"fall of antioch" i'd be really happy :)
was there some soundtrack/score to this film by which this
track was influenced, cuz it's a brilliant tune??
